Hmm im trying to create "rooms" on instrument
using an equalizer. Can this be true ? When you use a lowpass and remove the higher frequenses the instruments seems to appear to be further away, and when you remove low frequenses the opposite ? cause this is kind of how it sounds for me.
Another question is if i should use a low pass filter on basses ? |

Hi Conny,
Not sure I understand what you are trying to do, but frequency response changes with distance.
Outdoors you wouldn't have a reverb many times, and mostly define distances with frequency response.
The low frequencies travel further than the high.
And yes, if you talking about synthesized basses, it's hard to make a good one without a lowpass filter.
If you mean having a lowpass eq after your synth, maybe sometimes, but then it's something wrong with you original sound probably. You would of course first try to close the filter on the synth instead. |
