I saw that cartoon movie a couple of months ago. Don't even know what made me rent it. The deer that became a giant walking lizard is the Spirit of the Forest. There were also some pretty cool wild boars and huge white wolves there.

'Princess Mononoke' is a beautiful film. Also check out "Spirited Away", a movie by the same guy. Try and get the subtitled version if you can, the Hollywood dubbed version isn't so good IMO. His 'Nausicaa' is also very special, as is 'Totoro' if you fancy some warm fuzzies.

Was just informed by my parents that the song "Blue On Blue" is an old song by Bobby Vinton. So interesting. You can hear how much they changed the whole vibe. Listening to the bobby vinton one now, the "blue on blue" part sounds all eerie.

Ah, now I remember why I rented it!
Somebody recommended “The Cat Returns” (by the same studio) to me. And “Princess Mononoke” was among suggestions on that DVD. Yes, it is a beautiful movie. The cat movie was fun too.
