I Honestly advice u to stay on flstudio until u get the perfect system. If u already hv system problems with flstudio, then in cubase u will probabily hv the double of problems hehe, if u know what i mean.

cause my motherboard is asus a7n8x-x and it has "dual channel", that is something that will increase my memory to the double off the power.. is that relevant to music production?

yes... but you'll have to buy matched ddr pairs for dual channel
DAW= digital audio workstation

yeah... johnathan... (sorry if misspeled)
we all know about macs and so, but we're on a struggle to get more processing power without spending big bucks.
if i was going to spend a lot i would spend on a atlhon 64bits, dual channel, blabalbal, not a mac because i would be looking for awesome power, not a nice colored box with pretty chips inside...
just look at the prices for apple hardware... it's ridiculous... and most of the stuff i use everyday arent avaliable as mac products (from development toolkits, compilers and stuff to most VSTs i'm using).
i would buy a mac if i used logic like you do but as i don't...

ok . few things : first : over clocking... its good but! dangerous to your cpu. some r more suitable for
overclocking some less. be carefull.
second: tips for win xp users:
turn off ballon tips .
turn off cd autoplay.
go to control panel and choose system. from there go to advanced . from there to performance settings. visual effects r not neccecary for a daw.
so turn them off. now go to the more advanced settings and make sure your memory and cpu resource division is right. last but nor least ... no pics on desktop or other crap like sound effects and stuff on start up.
its smart also to make a special user for music use. with only what u must have to work on music.
it helps. realy!

"can't feel much difference after bounce."
there is a difference .
every bounce u make degrads the sound. it's a fact. u can`t always hear it but its there.
take a wave and bounce it a couple of times without any changes, u`ll hear the difference happening. keep the original wav to near by to compare....

completely agree
the power performance is nowaddays in the hands of pc users,
;D
mac is nothing different from intel/toshiba/sony/dell/etc/etc, they charge you with insane prices for rigs that can be 10 times faster.
the only way is to read, get into this world and build your own workstation knowing each part that you are buying.
b00m bye

Hey all...
i m using pc also, i agree that the power of pc's nowdays has increased but we unfortunatelly still working on windows. Yes there is a difference between the old win 9x
and XP but still it's Micro(bluescreen)$oft.
But for mac's is unix based OS, so its far more stable than windows.
If i had the money i would go for a Mac (cause i m using logic and i liiikee it!)
But even on a pc if you do some tweaking (lot of stuff about tweaking DAW's on the net - disabling unessecery services and such..), using it with care (no internet from it, no unusefull shits etc.) and a little luck ;-p then u have a decent workstation...
