Hey everyone, before I post my
INCREDIBLY simple questions, I just gotta
say, thank you EVERYONE for your great tips on this section of the forum, Ive learned so so so much from just reading and experimenting! Im well on my way on making some decent tracks...

So now my simple question. I think my ONLY problem in creating a typical full-on track is my kick+bass. Not so much my bass I can get them to sound nice, but its my kick thats driving me nuts...let me explain. My kick and bass are playing, typical KBBB KBBB style, no note changes in the bass. And that sounds fine. BUT! When I change my bass notes, the kick seems to have a mind of its own.

So I started reading the kick+bass forum, and im gonna try the whole...sidechaining thing, the idea of the kick and bass being on the same "channel" sounds like a possible solution...and it seems to work for everyone. But I cant seem to find a comftorable sidechaining VST, can anybody recommend one for me? With a link if possible...

and as for my second question, ive been using Abletons Live 6 eq's, and theyre okay and all, but...too simple, and since these EQ's are the *only* ones ive EVER used, I need an EQ vst which sounds great and isnt so complex, ive tried out a couple, and...just not what im looking for. Same thing as before, reccomendation and link if possible!

Once again, thank you all, I dont know where
I would be if it wasnt for all this great advice.

Here is a bit about the sidechaining issue .

A small note , ive used the Tc Sidechainer , and was very happy for the results ..
Afterwards i have changed the plug i used for bassline for Vb 1, and when i exported and cut out all of the parts that didnt belong there .. suddenly i didnt have to use sidechainin .. now i use another vsti for bass , and have the same issue .. but with the one im using now .. dont even have to cut the audio to make it fit .. ( maybe the Uad pultec also is doing a small job .. ) but i think if u dont have so much sound hanging in over eachother in the bass and kick department . maybe have a little cut in the low and higs . then u can have a clean and bouncy result without the sidechainer ...
well just my 2 Zloty , im sure u can find some help in the links above ;o)

1st things 1st....
Get a sound card with multiple outputs...
Get an external mixing desk of some sort....
run 4 Channels out of the PC into the mixer, 1 for Bass and Kick, 1 for Synths, 1 for Percussion, and 1 for SFX.
Prefrably keep the Kick and Bass channel mono.
BTW, if u dont know how to do this, use the VST connections option in Cubase.....
The TC Works SideChainer and Compresser-De-Esser, IMO works the best...

and start using more creative basslines!!!
KBBB KBBB KBBB KBBB KBBB KBBB KBBB KBBB...
gets boring u know...           [[[G|L|I|T|C|H]]]
