Unfortunately, I only have about a week to play with.. ...but I'm so thrilled about coming at all !!

I will definately be going to Paris, but hope to check out the countryside too.

I'm interested in anything you think is super fantastic both partywise and activity/location wise.

I know that's a bit broad, but I trust locals' opinions of their own country.

Thanks.

Well then I think some Parisians should advice U... especially for interesting things to see around/outside Paris..

As I'm quite far away from the Capitale... it's difficult for me to help U more..

Anybody feels like advising ?

I can't help you much, but if you like the country side better than the big cities, you should definitely come in the south-west.

Many different landscapes : from forests to mountains , from ocean to the sea, all this in a 300km square.

Toulouse is the biggest city in that square with montpellier.

Tououse is a very nice city which is called the pink city. Many places to visit in that city, good weather and hot temperatures in the summer.

From that city you can go either to the sea (Montpellier, Perpignan), to the ocean (Biarritz, Hossegor) or to the mountains (very nice treks to do there).

The mediteranean coast is very touristic durin summertime, too crowded for me. I personnaly like the ocean better and i think an Aussie would like it better too 'cause of the huge waves.

The country side is full of old churches, abbeys and fortresses from the middle-age.

Search on Google "catharres"

The prices are cheaper in the south for a tourist, and, the most important i think is that you'll find the best food in the south-west: this is the place
If you like foie-gras, cassoulet, ducks, and good wine, you really have to come !

You can travel by train or buses, thugh i think train is far better...you van maybe look for tourists pass or stuff like that to get good prices

1 week is very short to visit the country ! you'll have to come back another time dude

Enjoy your visit in France and don't be surprised by the french behaviour
