Hi all, I'm a relative newcomer to the trance scene (unless you count english space rock in the eighties......ozrics, hawkwind, club dog, treworgey....aahh!).
Seen some excellent posts on this forum...
one stuck in my mind; how to be annoying at parties(I've already posted in this one)....
What've people got against poi-poi swingers etc???
Some people (like me), get off not just dancing, but through juggling;for me, trance is a form of music very well adapted for juggling (balls, clubs;luminous balls are my latest toy!),thus participating as part of the deco, as much as the projections or light shows.....
Some people seem to dislike debutantes, thinking they should practice at home before "showing off" infront of a public, but in that case, shouldn't it be the same for dancing???
I think all the jugglers out there understand me when I say that you can get into the trance state through juggling as much as through drugs....maybe more easily even!
Are other jugglers, like me, interested in developing the repetitive aspect of the movements (ie: not just cramming in a maximum of complicated figures, but trying to create a story through the movement?
Some (you lucky few!!)may have seen luminous juggling in the distance, whilst lying in a chillout, captivated for an instant by the hypnotic effect.......
Have they appreciated it for what it is?
Not just a guy showing off his (limited) skills, but humbly trying to soothe their brains a while....
The thing about luminous juggling is that it's best when you CAN'T SEE THE JUGGLER;just the lights; same principal as a light show, but with a soul; a robot lazer cannot and will never produce this!
So, any jugglers out there want to share their ideas or experiences???
Showmanship, LED versus fire, when and where is best (dance floor versus chillout).....
A hairyfoot is awaiting your comments!!!

yeh man i totlally understand wher u're coming from..
Juggling is a trip in itself.. havent gone past the 3 ball... but theres a lot one can do... never tried the glowing balls though... must get my hands on that...

Combined with trance juggling is really magic... i surprise myself sometimes... especially second half of a trip.. can go on for a long time.. and you're so right bout tryin to create a story through movement...

me likes!           -.-. .... --- --- ... . / .-.. --- ...- .

Got glowballs from a shop in france (nature et decouverte); sold as a lamp, but its just three balls posed on a stand for recharging; much cheaper than real juggling balls, and resistant enough.....
Three ball juggling is plenty enough!
Especially when you're buying them!!!

i think if you want to practice or juggle at a party or event, then go for it!! Great analogy with dancing and juggling, it is just another form of creative expression. Whether you are good or not, it doesn't matter.

The only thing that i may not like about it, is sometimes, some poi poi swingers or jugglers sometimes will start juggling right in the middle of the dance area, and obviously it takes a lot of space from the dance area, and what happens is that the focus sometimes gets taken away from the dj's or artists music.

I'd prefer it to be off of the dancefloor or on the edges of the dancefloor so the focus can still be on the Music.

Now that's constructive criticism!
Promise I'll try to stay on the edge.....
Unless I get really over-excited!

Anecdote: In Morocco, 2005, one guy, and one guy only, got really flipped out by my luminous juggling, telling me to piss off cos he couldn't hack it....
He was drunk.

yea Juggling & Trance are harmonious & it's really trippy to watch a juggler while in a party, anytime better than lasers & lights.
