we had a jp 8000 some years ago and from what i remember it was a great synth,my friend sold it to buy a nord 2 cause we were a bit tired of the roland sound at that time but it was a mistake imo.if you like the sound and have a good price go for it !sell it later if it was not a good choice for you.

I LOVE MY 8080!
Great sound, kind of metallic (though you can get anything out of it really) Great modulation options, and tons of cool knobs and sliders, and it's got these insane vocal filtering/vocoding options that I haven't really figured out yet.

OpenSourceCode, I didn't find two LFO's with fixed destinations particularly great what comes to modulation. The morphing thing is quite nice, but Virus B/C puts JP in shame when talking about modulation.

I had JP, but it was too expensive for the features it got. The only reason to keep that synth is the supersaw, really. And that sound is lovely, even nowadays. If you get one, try using the two parts with unison 5 voices each. So you'll get 2x5 voices with 7+1 saws (super+regular) totalling in 80 detuned saws The chorus/flanger effects are pretty nice too.

But beware of the clicky envelopes, akward editing (basics go easily but menus are needed a lot) and sluggish mod-wheel action when voice-overloaded.

Its a classic ! The 8000 and 8080 have been overused in trance and house.
great sound. it doesn't sound anything like the virus or the nord but you've heard it in countless dance music tracks.
