I know next to nothing about how to do this, so if you can help, don't spare any details . I was wondering if it's possible to hook something like this: http://www.makershed.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=MKPX10 up to send midi signals. Could anyone explain how to do this and/or post a link to a website?
Might be for studio or performance depending on how crazy it can get while being useful. Id this is doable I'd probably end up making a board with a few of these on it so I can have lots of x-y controllers at once.

thats what i call going backwards in time..
this what i used to do like 9 years ago , realized its pritty much nothing like keyboards with 16 knobs.. so it is x-y but very limited imo.. there are tones of cool midi controllers this days include wireless wii remotes etc.

Well yeah, but how many knobs can you move at once compared to the number of joysticks?

a joystick can be quite cool for live performances though. . modding out some sweet pads and making em move like a gearbox!

This might work, can also be used to connect up multiple midi controllers.
1. Get an old an unwanted midi lead
2. Cut it in half
3. Strip the wires a bit and seperate them so you could re-attach if you wanted to.
4. Repeat the process with the wires coming from your joystick, joypad, or whatever device you have that has control functions you wish to use. (or with 2 other stripped midi leads if you wish to connect 2 midi controllers)
5. Through trial and error try connecting various wires up.
6. Tape up the connection or use a connecting block to secure once connected.
I know this works for connecting 2 controllers up.
Note to self.
(Don't try to midi up your pacemaker to get midi for your kicks tho lol.)
