Hi, I've got a joystick and want to use it to control midi parameters in programs such as reason or cubase.
Does anybody know of a way to do this?
Programs that convert joystick data to midi are pretty abundant in the net, but I dont seem to be getting reason to accept that midi data.
Please, I want to be controlling a wicked psydish with my joystick right away!!
thanks ;D |

there is some fruity loops plug in that supports microsoft joystick - i think it's a waste of time
it only good for live - think about it - an artist performing live with microsoft joystick |

Well, each axis for a different controller.
X for cutoff, Y for rez, Z for pwm maybe
Actually I am interested in this as well. Converting joystick into midi signals.

Alright, thanks a lot people...
It seems to me by these posts that it is not quite understood how this could be achieved... but I insist, shooting a psydish with a joystick would be simply amazing... as soon as i gain any info about this ill post it here, I hope you could do the same ;D |

yeah but joystick is cheap
i saw 2 different things till now
1.Chris Liebing(Techno) - uses some heat hardware so when his hand come over the hardware the sound changes - it works on heat and cost really lot of money
2.Christian Varela(Techno,Ambient) - also saw his live that made for TVE - spanish television and also used something that just he touched the screen and made aa flanger phaser panning and more....
so.......... |

Im doind some stuff on a sound module I have on my course, I had no idea, if you just buy some light sensors and some cable, you can actually do your owns hardware for midi controlling.
A guy in my class just made some gloves with 4 sensors that you connect to a phatboy and you can do crazy tweats by moving hands up and down and crazy effects when you open and close the hands...Its just amazing stuff and it was about £10 to build...(appart from phat boy off course...)
You can build really interesting stuff for your lives acts,
really cheap!
If anyone is interested in how to build stuff like this, send me a message I can send some docs explaining:) , you can make stuff that would cost huge amount of money almost for free, just with light sensors, a midi controler and some imagination!:)
