Hi there,
Free-Spirit Records are proud to present our label manager and one of the newest rising stars from the UK psychedelic scene, Journey aka Jay OM, for the first time in Brazil. He will be touring in Brazil from 28.11.2007 until 11.01.2008.
---JOURNEY BIOGRAPHY---
JOURNEY aka Jay OM was born in Italy and now resides in London. His earliest psychedelic-rock influences were forged playing guitar in local bars in Milan.
His romance with the decks beginning in the late 80's whilst working for a local radio station where he was given the opportunity to spin his first record. This love firmly in place the move to London followed in 1998. In 1999 he started djing professionally and since then has been rocking the crowds at many of the biggest venues in London as well as outdoor parties in the UK and Europe.
In 2003 he studied Sound Engineering and Music Technology and began a solo production projecy under the name Journey, and another in collaboration with Anton Petrov as Star~Trip.
In 2004, he conceived the vision of a network of like-minded artists in the psy-trance and ambient genres, all working to promote themselves and each other under one banner. Thus the Free-Spirit label was born... originally intended to focus on artist management, the label's skyrocketing success combined with the enthusiasm of Jay, the artists, and fans enabled Free-Spirit to outgrow its horizons.
Free-Spirit continues to build a collective of artists and djs from the UK, Europe and worldwide, aiming to create and provide access to a combined set of resources not available to them as individuals, making it just a little easier for all to concentrate on what they truly love, which is the music!
Brahamaputra, the debut release for Free-Spirit Records compiled by Jay OM, hit the shops in October 2006, featuring both a Journey and a Star~Trip track amongst others and in June 2007 both Journey and Star~Trip released on the second Free-Spirit compilation V/A Free-Spirit Vol.2 "Eupsychia".
Collaborations with other artists, including M-Theory, Tron and M-Klome have given a big kick to Journey’s recent production, evolving his sound into a more groovy psychedelic beat with his original touch.
Journey is currently working on his solo album which will be released on Free-Spirit Records in spring 2008.
