I guess there is much less drama in illegally recording live sets and pirating with mp3. All the rest is not important as long as we got the dope YO.

My man my kick in life comes more from making music and eating a nice Japanese meal. I ain't smoking years already and have no intention to start.
Just wanted to send regards to Jirah a really cool guy and definitely too nice, gentleman and intelligent to continue making trance music for ppl that can't even respect their own culture.
And about recording live sets, actually I couldnt care less but it happens a lot.
And yeah... As someone mentioned here there will be another morning artist instead, no worries. There are plenty of ppl that will spend time in the studio, to make that acid kick in well in the morgen

Shame really. Jirah's music was pretty good. His debut album on USTA was amazing. Still listen to it from time to time. But, if this is what he wants then so be it.

That's not drama... but anyway, if Tim happens to read this - thank you for all the fine tunes!
It IS strange though... I thought the Jirah story was only just beginning...

As a fellow US artists, he will indeed be missed. He totally blew me away at a Thump afterparty one year and has always been completely nice and incredibly intelligent. I hope that the direction that his live is going is filled with nothing but love and life. As to "drama"... Drama would be him posting here and his reasons why he was leaving. He obviously actually cared for the music and the scene enough not to just up and disappear. It's kinda like putting in your notice of resignation for your employment. It's bad form to just up and leave but if you had no repsect for the commitment that you made, (which making music is a BIG commitment) then you wouldn't really care. IMO he is responsible enough to put it on his website that he wants to do something else with his life and a big thank you to everyone who had either seen him play or heard his music. To me that is a Stand up action. I may not be the biggest fan of melodic music, but I recognise when people are in it for the love of it. He was one of those people and now it is time for him to move on. Nothing but the utmost respect to Tim and his family and I hope that he still writes music. It doesn't have to be trance, and he doesn't have to release anything, but he should at least keep his muse.

arggg.....With the exit of Tim's Jirah project, the overall quality of U.S.-based trance music production has noticably dropped a few points, so to speak.
I suspect Tim won't stop making music though, perhaps moving into another form of inspirational sound. And, I think he'll do rather well, a consequence of the quality and imagination that he channels.
I was fortunate enough to hear him in Pittsburgh a year or so ago, his sound blew me away. An emotional and crystal-clear sound wave.
much happiness in the future Tim.
peace,
dean
