Jean Borelli,
on behalf of all the party people who came despite the rain and the snow and the mud to see their favourite live act Orion at the Indepen-Dance Festival 2004,
on behalf of all the people in the organization who invested their money in order to pay your flight ticket, your food, and your girlfriend's food (including bottles of wine and everything else), your hotel room, (while the party people who paid 55 euros slept in muddy conditions in freezing tents), and despite the fact that you think we are a shity organization,
let me tell you on behalf of all these people and in my own name that for leaving the party with your complete fee paid in cash without even playing a live mix in our indoor scene in respect of the public, that you are a complete asshole. Get back with your friends where you belong: to the supermarket of would-be trance super stars.

PS. i know i cant sue you because i trusted you and didnt think of making a proper contract, but thanks for the lesson anyway, i'll be more careful in the future, and i'll watch out for crooks like you |

Are you sure you are reffering to Jean Borelli also known as Orion?
I would like to hear also his version of this story because i happen to know him very well and he is for sure one of the most professional and easy going guys out there.

thinkgreens words are strong but i think his message is just.
i played at the party & i know that many artists & staff went home with much less than they deserved or were owed in their pocket.
i know also that orion got paid (in full) before he set foot on the mountain. due to bad weather the paty was moved indoors & the (smaller) chill sound system was then the main floor. at this point orion must have felt that his music was too powerful for the little sound system, because he decided not to play & took the first available cable car down the mountain (keeping all the cash).
i don't find that very respectful to the organizer, the other acts who lost money & the people that worked for weeks in bad weather.
this party was a good lesson that showed all of us that things don't always turn out as planned.
it also made peoples true characters show through, i made many good friends & lost respect for some others.
we must be prepared to accomodate a partys problems & keep giving out good energy, because that is what we are there for.
even your best music cannot lift the party if you give out a shit vibe.
i am thankful for all the good people that helped to make this party into one of the most fun weekends i have had.
many thanks to Zirkin & Rev who took over the dancefloor when we were exhausted after playing 4 hours with no other djs to be found at the time.
big thank you to the Ketuh crew for excellent music & showing me once again that there are more & more tuned in people emerging.
if orion is reading this i would like to remind you that you play to boost the peoples vibe & not the other way around.

Can people stop please this always "mods!!! delete this topic!". If someone wants to tell it to the public why not. Nobody has to believe anything. Internet is a public place, i don't think there's any law that's prohits you from expressing yourself lets say at a place outside internet to a crowd, can anyone arrest you if you start stopping people at a street telling what has happened? So why the whining. Do we really have to have someone decide what can be written and what not? on PSY-forum. Ofcourse there will be people telling bullshit and stuff, but still nothing bothers atleast me than some rules and moderating in INTERNET! |

i was there too...coniditons were almost polar.but the promoters tried their best to save the party. many artists and djs involved did the same, even though they pretty much knew on the first day that they d go home with less money than intended.
there were some awsome acts, sirius-isness, mekanikka, ultimae crew, peak recs crew,doof recs guys, and everyone managed to have a good time, and play excellent sets.
Orion (whose live-act I very much looked forward to!) did not play. there was a soundsystem, it was indoor due to the very cold weather outside.
it's a little bit sad, coz there were people who came from across europe there, who suffered extreme cold, rain and snow and still went home with a smile on their face....and there is orion, who had great food there, great accomodation, and great possibility to make something out of the party...and he did not.
the money was good though;)
dont matter anymore....what matters is that in this party so many bonds were made, so many people met, so many seeds were sown.
and the spirit prevailed over ego for all the djs/artists involved. except ofcourse in the case of orion.

Sounds like a lot of things went wrong or unforseen at this party too, eh? too bad.
One word for it is; PLANNING!
PLAN for every contingency! Be professional - no matter how much it hurts - it commands respect in the long run - and people usually wont take the piss - but then theres no safeguard against bad spirit of individuals..just forums!
(could this all be a simple misunderstanding??)

I know Jean Borelli very very well and I can say that he need a damn good reason before he refuse to play.
Where did the party take place (Country)? The reason I ask is because some countires have a very bad reputation of f***ing the artist up in many ways.
And what about all the countless times the promoters in certain countries f*** the artists and run away with the money, refuse to pay the agreed amount ect. ?
Before you all start to run a campain againt Jean Borelli you should try to ask yourself what happened before between him and the promoters?
Just because a promoter write negative about Jean Borelli does not mean that the promoter is an angel himself...

this party was in swiss alps, in lungern. on top of a mountain 2013 meters high...the weather was brutally cold. it was just 2 weeks ago...

I heard about this one ... and i think it's true ... maybe we should also listen what Jean says to it ...
but it's not the first time i hear this story ...(got this mail also in my inbox ...
Alex and Pascal the Promoter from this Party was running arround the whole Party just to make the best with the Party ...
i played at Friday evening outdoors and it was damn cold and raining ... but i enjoyed ...
At Saturdy morning i was suposed to play my Live ... but i couldn't walk down during the swamp to the Stage (it was so slippery ) ...
So the Promoter moved the whole Party indoors ... best idea ...
So Eliad (Space Buddha) and me decided to play Indoors ) At Saturday evening ... with the o.k. from the promoter ...
I sleept a few houers ... and after i woke up Alex came and payed me the Full Fee before my Live Set ...
At the evening Eliad played (because of a Line up delay at 12 not at 10 in the night) ...
And he realy enjoyed to play ... because the ppls made good vibes and danced a lot 
After i was suposed to play ... but there was a dj who just switched from the Live Act from Eliad to he's dj Set (he was a chillout dj normaly ... but he just trought : "if the chillout now is the mainfloor i just will play my Dj Set and take the time what i'm suposed to play in the chill out !!"
I told him : "+%*%+&* !!! hey man what the Hell !! I arranged my live for tonight ... and everything (Equipement) is allready build up and u have seen that for sure and the promoter told me i have to play ... and u just came from the back and put ur cd in !!!" He just answered me that he's a chill out dj and now he gonna play he's fullon Set there because he don't wanna play in the Chill Out ...!!!
Many ppls was asking me when i gonna start ...so i told everyone that i don't gonna play because i don't wanna make more mess in the line up as allready is ... specialy if Ppls who get a muuuuutch bigger name as me are suposed to play later i don't wanna delay theyre time more ...
So i told this the Partypromoter and he told me that's o.k. and he's happy that i think like that ...
And still i get the full fee with the accept from the Promoter !!!
All Live Acts played and got their Fun there ... RESPECT GUYS !!
but orion didn't ... he was sitting in the Hotelroom with he's Girl ... I realy have respect to Jean Borelli ... and i don't realy know what hes reason was ... But i know he got payd fully ... and that's not fair ...
I also think some "big" Artists (here i don't mean just jean ... there are a few)allways wanna be so proffessional and want to make their buissnes ...
But sometimes they don't come for some reason ,
sometimes they miss the flight ,
sometimes they fergot the Insulin at Home ,
sometimes they are so fuct that they can't play anymore ,
sometimes they just don't play because of less peoples ,
All thes things i've seen personaly !! And i think if they wanna do the Job and be professional they should also play ...
I work everyday , sometimes in the rain sometimes it's reaaaaly boring ... but i can't just go to my boss and say : "sorry i go home it's to cold" ... because he pay me ...
... i don't wanna piss at someones leg ...

Yep I"ve been to a number of party's where promoters worked so hard to get big names out,and the big name cancelled and kept some, ifnnot all th emoney. I won;t name names, but it is so common in this scene, and very cruel... it is why I'm finding that a lotof crews in my area stick to many local live acts and dj's, and maybe 1 big name international, often dj'ing. It just really kills the vibe when and egotistical wanker who thinks he/she is all that, it's trance not pop music you idiots, treat your fans with some damn respect. When an artists or label complains about loss of income through records sales, maybe its time they look at themselves and how they treat the public in promotional ways and when they areon tuor, it would solve a lot of problems. Keep the scene real, not commercial! |

seems like these complaints about "hot shot" artists are increasing with time,on this forum as well....lets all pray that as the psy-community grows this disgusting phenomenon will decrease with time..lets all remember our humble origins people..thujon and amazon mad respect for showing respect!! |
