I guess some of us here are using jBridge. How does it work? Do the VSTs work properly? Does it affect the performance of your DAW (sound, crashes, ect...).

Thanks for the input

in my experience, it does seem to be better than native bridges (definitely for cubase, at least). certain plugins cause crashes, but jbridge has a bunch of options you can play with, so sometimes you can make those work. the descriptions for the options are not particularly clear, so it's a lot of trial and error.

overall, i don't think there's much benefit with going with 64-bit DAW. not much upside, since it's rarely RAM that's the bottleneck (unless you are using huge sample-based libraries... i don't). but you do have to spend time on bridging/conversion/configuration and some things might still not work properly no matter what.           https://soundcloud.com/dead-end-dance

Well the decision is made and i'm moving to 64bits....i wanted to maintain my Kjaerhus Audio and G-Sonique stuff but in the end everything is replaceable in case they dont work with a bridge.

Surge, Soundtoys and Fabfilter gear are already in 64bits...so no worries!

Thanks for your input.

i was build a new pc from hardware parts to software with win7 x64 ultimate and ableton 9 x64 for a good friend of mine before a week. he wanted to take all the advantages from his powerful machine with x64 system and ableton too.

the good thing was that the most of his plugs was x64 but ofcourse he has some other x86 too. we tried the jbridge (the demo first) just to see if it works good. for the moment (after 1 week) seems like everything working good and he told me that he bought the full version of jbridge.

just to say my experience about.           ...into the wild....

Hello,

Been Using Jbridge with Studio One since last year.
I don't install to C drive so mine are located on D VstPlugins in sub dirs
Effects
Synths
Jbridged
in each all manufacturer's that I own/free have a folder with the corresponding effects/synths within these.

It makes it easy to separate a freebie if it acts up .. Or if updates are released ...
There are plenty of options per plugin in the jbridge gui incase of problems. I have had crashes caused by jbridge. But they are so few and far between, it could be blamed on my daw being open for weeks at a time...            https://soundcloud.com/psypseudonym
