The JBL EON G2 comes in two versions, are you talking about the 10" one or the 15" one?
I assume you're talking about the EON15 G2. On paper they both seem to have identical specs so i guess you would be ok with either one, they're both good companies.

I put the mackie 450's side by side against one of the Eon 15's many years ago and there was absolutely no question that the mackies sounded better. They were much crisper in the high end, and were much louder. The JBL's also distorted much more, especially when pushed to the limits, while the Mackie's still sounded pretty good when pushed really hard. I stil have my italian made mackie 450's and they have been one of the best investments I've made (especially for the incredible bargain I got).
The mackie's at that time were made by an italian company. After like 2004 they were made by a chinese company, and they still sound good, but not as good. Mackie also put out the 450 V2 recently, which shaved 11 pounds off the weight, so they might be worth checking out too.
It's my understanding that the italian company which made the first mackie model 450's now produces their own version, RCF ART 322A. I am told they are just as good, or better.
FYI, if you plan on getting a sub, do not get the mackie 1500/1501 matching sub for the 450's, it's not all that great, especially for what you pay.
  Keep The Faith,
