For jazz inspired electronica (non-trance), Koop is divine, a group from Sweden inspired by swing, with very nice vocals.

koop is veeery nice. also tokyo jazz massive,
jazzanova, mo horizons (it's more latin though), my alltime faves cinematic orchestra, flanger, bisk...
hey, what about mingus? and from the 70's deodato, jaco pastorius, weather report, the german mps sesions (volker kriegel etc)?... and you can't forget ella or billie when we talk about jazz

Hurf! It is being like opening a box of surprises here...
In really in love with Jazz right now, but it must start at some point...
which one of these will be more about somehow close to the trance harmony (or perhaps something that will float me out) still with the sinphony of the Jazzzzz.
This Tokyo Jazz Massive sounds great!
keep bringing the names up, I will do almost all of them with time
cheers! |

I used to love bebop, but it can get really crazy at times. Would love to attend a bop party like they threw in the fifties, though, mad energy. Just reading about those parties in Kerouac's adventures will give you goosebumps. One of my bop favourites is the mad horn of Dizzy Gillespie. That dude had some serious lungs.

e.om is influanced deeply by jazz music.
but not in manner of sound or instruments.
we follow the essence of jazz tradition by keeping the music totaly improvized while playing it LIVE.
for us - this is the true spirit of jazz concept!

There is a live band from Melbourne called Morph who describe their style as "trazz" - it's basically a mix of trance & jazz, all performed on live instruments very fucking funky I must say
