I for sure know that Tristan is a passionate jazz lover, but i can't tell if his music is influenced by it.

we looove jazz and especially some of tommi's tracks on his album (pelinpala: my cd has landed... check out the tracks "jazz cabalero" and "freestyle frisbee") and on our
electric help elves album (especially "mean to me") have a jazzy vibe.
i also recommend the juju space jazz albums!

I was influenced heavily by jazz music as well as soul and funk... Come to think of it, Full Color was a jazz musician

Me to... but most jazz influenzes I use in other projects..
maybe the track gummflo released on altitude recordings has abit of a jazz vibe in it altough more tv-game porn direction...hehe
I would say Rip Van Hippy´s music is pretty jazz inspired.. and you can probably find more jazz inspired music if you look on psy-harmonic releases.
and already said.. but check out pelinpala.. |

maybe you'd like to check out some "real" jazz, not electronic music influenced by jazz, so try:
Keith Jarret
Jan Garbarek
John Coltrane
Dave Brubeck Quartet
McCoy Tyner
Modern Jazz Quartet
Pat Metheney Group

thank you hip thought that some of these names dont sound strange it is good to have a direction...
it seems very few influence of jazz in the scene, the thing is I am quiet not keen anymore to listen to any of the influences used in the trance, and I for sure would love to go out to dance thinking this artist plays Jazzy trance, harder then rock, or morning or and...... trance.

hip: that´s a really good idea... and one more tip, a swedish trio named: Peter Nordahl Trio
I would also say look into some elektronic music artists that isn´t into trance.. like:
Amon Tobin especially the albums out from out where and bricolage..
also
Jaga Jazzist has some nice things..
Bohren and Der Club of gore (this is really good moody music)

Decoy won an ARIA (Australian Record Industry Award) for a jazz album I think & now they write trance with jazz inspirations including live double base with a brass section. It's quite good
Also check the first Loopus album on Demon Tea - there's some jazz influences to be heard there
but yeah, they're both from within the trance genre. If you wanna go back to the source check Miles Davis
new Hadal Drop album on the way
if you don't have the last one get in touch |

classic jazz? you're lucky this isn't a jazz forum as this would have spurred on a discussion that could easily rival a full-on discussion here.
i won't be anal and just assume that you mean any jazz released prior to the rock fusion days of the 70s (and late 60s to some extent), before mclaughlin and late davis basically.
For intelligent "classic" (whatever that means) jazz, do try A Love Supreme by Coltrane. The train really had something to say and he knew how. If that is a bit too calm for you (even though it is pretty intense if you give a couple of thorough listens), try Bitches Brew by Davis, the beginning of the fusion I mentioned earlier, but could still pass for "classic" these days.
For jazz inspired electronica (non-trance), Koop is divine, a group from Sweden inspired by swing, with very nice vocals.
