I was shocked to hear that Jake Stephenson (Optic Eye,Dr psychedelic, Alien Mutation,Guilfin ambient picnic) had died sometime around the last week of January. Apparently Jake was an eppileptic, a condition he could live with but he had two fits close to one another that bought on an heart attack that killed him. responsible for many chilled releases some good some not so the last of his compilations I bought was "Gateway to the sun" (purple ohm) Which featured tracks by people like Ishq, Another green world and chris organic as well as tracks by Jake under a couple of guises Ganja beats/ Whitestar /creation. This is tragic. Although I didn't know Jake personally I attended a few of the ambient picnic parties in Guildford and enjoyed some of his work as Optic Eye.
May he rest in peace.

....So sad to know that people...i didn't know much about this artistist although, but he had a very creative mind i am shure, and it's a great loss not only for his relatives and friends, to whom i express my deepest condolences, but also for the music community...

what .... this is really sad .... i was just listenin to the gateway to the sun compilation .... and suprisingly only the tracks mentioned here which are by Jake Stephenson tingled my senses ..... this is a great loss .....

Very sad to hear this. I love some of his releases on Kinetix, especially the Optica albums....
