i'm hoping that the contest would give deference to those who have not yet been released. It seems like the whole point of a contest would be to discover undiscovered talent; if they wanted a remix by someone who's already got exposure, they could just well and ask them.

hmm... i hadnt the BIG intention to improve and send my version.
but the date-delay might be a good sign to do.

I totally agree with Rob-ot on that one.. i think that's what they are looking for too.. New talent.. At least, that's how i would interpret the situation.. hehe           "VA - REWIRED" OUT NOW !! (techtrance invasion) ---> http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/86303/forum/9

Yes exactly. I mean, with all due respect to the wonderful artists here on isratrance and elsewhere who have already had a track released on a label....it would seem to make sense that DS would (hopefully) give preference to those who have not.

it is understandable that those already released would want to enter b/c getting on DS, especially a proggy artist, would be a big boost to one's carrer and mojo.

I agree with both clown and rob-ot that this competition should be used to find new talents, but I think the best track should be released - regardless if it's a newcomer or an already established artist.

But - if Peter Didjital is reading along, I know that MPDQX/Digital Structures launched a download-shop a few months ago. Maybe, in addition to the best track released on CD, they could make the best 3 runners-up available for download in their webshop?

I do think the best track should be released as well.

I guess the only way to have made it (note past tense...) a total discovery-style contest would have been to limit it only to unreleased artists.

Seeing as this wasnt stipulated, I guess than we're screwed

J/K. There is a lot of great unreleased talent out there.

It was very difficult to choose only one "winner" for DS, and it's a shame to loose all the remixes that have been done... Really too many remixes!
They thinking to make a webpage with lnks with free download of all the remixes (with each remixer authorization of course).
