GODIZUS sisters Production presents ~
*JADE* Psytrance tribal event ~ March 31 2007 ~ Artists * DJs ~ Vancouver
This is a Fundraiser event ~ BENEFIT for our sister "Kim Hagen" ~ "the Kim Hagen foundation" ~ who is still recovering from a coma & head surgeries ~ who is currently going through a rehabilation program ~ www.bringkimback.com

Okay...review time! 
First of all, I would like to thank Ganika and the rest of my Godizus Sisters for having me up to play...very good times!
Roman and I finally landed in Vancouver at about 1:30am Saturday morning. We were supposed to get there around 11:45pm Friday, but there was a big storm in Northern Texas that we had to fly around. I'm surprised that Maja (Mistress Jade) and Ryan (our driver) were still there waiting for us. When we got off the plane, and finally made it through the border pigs, we were looking for someone holding a sign that read "Jade" but of course by the time we finally got there, they weren't holding it any more...lol. As Roman and I were walking through the airport trying to find them, I looked over at Maja for a quick second because she kind of stood out, then just kind of continued walking towards the exit. She saw me look at her and thought that that might have been me, but thought I had darker hair, but her and Ryan decided to follow us and to not let us out of their site. We got outside, and I was about to get out my cell phone and make a few calls, when she calls out "Meghan?!". So we finally found each other...yay!
We all hop in Ryan's car and head on over to Organix. We got their around 2:15am and it ended at 3:00am, but at least we got to check it out for a while and it was BUMPIN. However, Joe (mudpeople) didn't get to spin because he got a bunch of hassle from the border pigs. I'll let him explain what happned if he feels like it. He was with them for over 2 and a half hours from what I recall him saying. Roman and I got some hassle as well, but definitely not like Joe. Welcome to Canada BITCHES!!! 
Later in the afternoon on Saturday, we all went over to the Amsterdam Cafe which was really cool, but on the way there we had to go through this area (I believe it was somewhere on Hastings Ave.) that had nothing but TONS of bums/crackheads all strung out on the street and sleeping in doorways. It was a very sad thing to see. I've never seen anything quite like that. This one woman actually stumbled onto the street in front of our car while we were driving and she looked over our way and all she had was one tooth. Man that was some crazy shit!!!
Okay now for the actual Jade event... 
All went really well for the most part. Just a couple minor kinks, but I had a F*ing blast playing and I hope to be back in the future. There were a few issues with the mixer, but luckily by my set, it seemed to do okay. Also, there was a little bit of a weird vibe in the place, but that was pretty much just the very young "hippie ravers" setting that off. I was told that there was a bit of a different crowd there then what they usually have. They were also doing some very annoying drumming. I don't mind drumming at outdoor parties, but not at an indoor event. Maja and I approached them and said that we were the headliners of the event, and that we request that there be no drumming during our sets, and they said that they were cool with that, but they still decided to bust out their drums a little bit anyways. So they were told again to stop, and they did (for a while anyway). But like I said, everything else was a blast!!!
Both Maja and Jessica (Longstocking) were very professional both on and off the decks..very cool girls! I just wish that we could've kicked it a little more with Jessica. I'm working on getting them on a lineup for one of our future events.
Joe, Ryan, Maja, Roman and I were getting pretty silly on Sunday evening. We set up the cab that night and we had a couple alarms set for 3:30am on Monday and then we would head on out the door to the airport at 4:00am. Well...we all slept through the alarms that were supposedly set on a couple cell phones. I woke up, and felt that it was much later than 3:30, and sure enough it was. It was almost 5:00am!!!!! I do believe I may have heard the phone ring because the cab was supposed to call us about 15 minutes before arriving, but I was so out of it, that I didn't think much of it. So we call another cab, and it was probably not even 10 minutes later that it arrived, so we all hopped in, and headed over to the airport. However, Joe ended up missed his flight and ended up having to get on a much later flight which was at 5:00pm.
I'm glad to have finally met all the freaks I kicked it with over the weekend. Hope to see you all again soon!  Pictures will be posted SOON!

Wow... What a city! What a bunch of twisted freaks! (thats in a good way! )
Had such a great time... Met so many really awesomely cool people... And I can't wait to go back!
It started early in the morning in Reno, I drove my sleep deprived ass to the airport, parked the heap, and checked in. Then, I spent the obligatory 45 minutes waiting in the TSA line, which was understaffed (surprise) and the staff that was there, was unhappy and overworked (again, surprise...). So I got to my flight like 5 minutes before it left. But I got to it!
SLC airport, 2 hour layover...
THen, Vancouver. Wait in Immigration for about 20 more minutes. Then, nearly through, another customs agent says "Go through that door over there", so I do. Wait for about 30-45 minutes before I even get to talk to an agent. Who proceeds to grill me on where I work, whether or not Ive done drugs in the past, they even wanted the phone numbers of my bosses... I can understand, that they don't want any more addicts to take care of. But damn, they almost didn't let me through... I discovered that, to work in Canada as a foreigner you need a work permit. So I didn't get to play at the club... Well, another time perhaps. After the 2.5 or so hours spent being psychically raped, I finally met up with Ryan, Maja and Jessica. Then, the airport was left behind.
That evening at dinner I tried a very strange concoction. The traditional (apparently) drink up there, the Caesar. Not bad... Interesting.
Then later that night, we all trucked over to the club, where I had a great time, Chris played a nice set, but I think Mike Causai's set was exactly what I was looking to hear! Great stuff. Nice atmosphere there, nice people, great time! Meghan and Roman showed up after a while, and we stayed around til it ended. Lots of smiles and warm vibes to all involved with the club! I'll be back!
Next day, we found the Amsterdam Cafe, and it was almost like being back in A'dam again. B) BC is indeed famous for a reason!
After that we searched for some necessities for the party, then eventually went to the venue. So we sat around still a bit sleep-deprived, as the madness coalesced. Then we all stood in the opening circle, which for me was actually pretty heavy. Then the first dj of the night played her chill set. Now, memory may not be serving 100% here, so I may have some sets mixed up... After the chill set was some ok sounding fullon, but, well, not my thing... Then the next dj played some prog, Yotopia's track on set/4 if I remember right, among others... Then the next dj played with a laptop, and it was the cleanest set so far. Not bad. But again, not my kind of thing. Sunash played next, more my style of stuff. Not bad! THen, Ganika vs Krazy K. They played some proper full throttle stuff, despite (I was to find later) some problems with the mixer, they had nearly nothing in the headphones! They certainly did well enough regardless! Then, after the vs set, Mistress Jade came on, the mixer was fixed, and the madness began with a vengeance! Maja played a great set, very clean. Then Meghan came on and played another great set! Also very clean! After Meghan was Longstocking, who played YET ANOTHER great set! These ladies are all very professional up there behind the decks, they know exactly what they're doing and they do it well! After Longstocking was Stargirl who played some time-appropriate (but, still not my thing...)) fullon. Then that was the end of Jade, and the beginning of the afterparty with Chris from Organix. Of course he played a good set from what I heard, but I was pretty out of it by then and we all left back to Gania's and some 'relaxation'.
Then, after a bit of a nap Sunday we all wake up, and have a bit more madness til its time to go to sleep. We all hoped that the 3 or so cellphones that were around would wake us up. But apparently, our minds had other plans... So it ended up, we woke up at 5:00 ish, or at least, one of us did. Then, the frantic search and gathering of our stuff. Goodbyes to Ganika and Nighthawk, and another cab arrives to spirit us away. Maja nearly had a freakout... But it was I who would miss their flight! 15 minutes too late to check in... So I had to wait 12 hours or so for the next one... Which, Ive had worse... (JFK in NYC... ARRGAHGAL:G'ASEJFJOADG;SLJ;) So I got into Reno about 10:30 (Monday the 2nd), safe and sound....
I had such a wonderful time, it was great to meet you all, Maja, Meghan, Roman, Gania, Jessica, Roger, Chris, Ryan, the various felines, and anyone else I forgot... Looking forward to next time!

"Godizus 2007" summer gathering has been set for Aug 4 to Aug 6 outdoor (Vancouver, Canada) ~ so far over 50 "brothers & sisters" artists/djs  on the line up ~ 3 stages ~
Flyer and confirmed line up * listing will start on June 1rst ~ stay tune
thank you very much meghan and mudpeople for your review and great words ~ missing you already ~ JADE was a magical night great sets and vibes from all sisters and family freinds who supported this event ~
