I mean I'm a great fan of jackie's work
I adored the armor of god, thunder in sahara ,project a 1 and 2 even if it was a bit cheesy,I loved the police story series but this new police story movie was crap.I think he should retire but before that he must give us the epilogue of the armour of god.imo THIS movies only compare with indiana jones and I'm being very realistic .check them out ppl.

AOG's a great series, but I've always fallen in love with his period pieces, like Drunken Master, or his Police story line, than the "I'm a chinese indiana jones" theme. Jacky's great as a martial artist, as a fight choreographer, but not quite as an actor trying to mimic american films (read: his first movies in holywood sucked ass - cannonball run, or his wong jing effort - city hunter).

Heh, City Hunter is great just because of the Street Fighter II scene.

in real life.I heard that he was trained by his acrobat parents and after that in a form of chinese kung-fu by samo hang.
anyway IMO his best movie scene is the one at the hideaway in the desert at thunder in sahara eventhough his funniest one was at the drunken master when he was fighting being fucked up!

well, CRX, Jackie, Sammo, Yuen Biao, Corey and Wah Yuen and several others are famous for being trained at the Peking Opera, where they were trained in various forms of martial arts, singing (hence, Jackie's singing carreer, as well as sammo's occasional croon in this and that movie. JC also sang the Wong Fei Hung Theme song in OUATIC II), tumbling, acrobatics, acting etc.
Biao, Chan and Sammo Hung Kam Bo were renowned as the top three "Brothers", sammo being the elder, jackie the middle one and yuen biao the young one.
BTW, Yuen Woo Ping, no relation to biao, wah and corey, was also a member of the opera, and anyone who's seen the matrix knows what he's capable of.
Onscreen, apart from DM and SITES, I don't think Jackie ever preformed a "Set" martial art form. he's usually using everything in his disposal (and than some) to get rid of his enemies (rumble in the bronx being the key example here). he's usually using a rigid form of wushu in terms of kicking, punching and blocking, but everything else is his peking opera training.

DM - Drunken Master
SITES - Snake in the Eagle's shadow - one of his finest works in the early stages, with good ol' simon yuen, better known from the first DM Movie. some of the best choreography, and one of the best villains seen on the Jade screen: Korean Super Kicker Jang Lee Hwang, acting as the over-the-top evil Lord Sheng Kuan.
