I posted this in the mastering section,
but no one replied, so I guess i'll
try again here.

Has anyone here used the Izotope
Ozone? I was just basically
whethere this thing will do the job
for mastering a track.

As we all know, mastering is a
huge pain, and the advertisements
for the Ozone make it seem as if
this thing works miracles.

If anyone has some information
regarding just how good this thing
is, please share it!

A lot of people use it for mastering. I tried it but it didn't really satisfy me in general. I use only the Multiband Stereo Imaging from it. For mastering i use only my UAD plugs which are quite amazing.           A friend told me once that the biggest mistake we make is that we believe we live, when in reality we are sleeping in the waiting room of life.

Yeh i use it, just be careful with the stereo imaging and the enhanser stuff is very very easy to over do it. is useful tho. I use the stereo imaging quite a lot for removing any stereo phase on kick/bass tracks to keep them in check. Seems to be better than the waves s1 imo.
The eq and multiband compressor are as tight as anything i've ever used for mastering but subtlety is the key i think.

I like the stereo imager too. The reverb stinks and for the other functions I'd say there are better tools. the exciter is quite nice too.

What I do like about this plugin is that it is amazing for fixing volumes of a crappy voice samplewith the 'voice compression' preset (for some bizar reason).           http://www.soundcloud.com/bandarlog
