I was browsing 3D vision and I saw a flashing "coming soon" section on the front page that said...
"Coming Soon:
3D Vision Music on Itunes, AOL Music, Music Match, Karma Download for quality internet download. More info soon..."
it took me a few seconds to read it (due to the flashing text... not a fan of that.) but im not sure what to think of this. i admire 3D vision for thinking outside the psytrance-box and going for something new, but what do you guys think of this? |

Sorry s0ft but I must disagree.... this can brig a huge benefit to the scene and if other labels join in this can be the begning of the end of the Labels bitch of mp3 thingy - if you can't kill'em join'em -.... no offence intended but a lot of us (not labels) were hinting for them to go this way for a wille now....

disagree? i have no opinion for you to disagree with. i really dont know what i think of this. it has the potentional to revolutionize, but im just not sure if its the future of trance or not.
EDIT: i think i just decided that this is worth suporting just because its new an inovative for our smaller community. |

It is really good to see some of the more established labels taking a stance toward selling individual tracks. I would hope that labels began hosting their own pay by track sites and allow the people who want wav. format tracks to be able to download them at their own leisure.

It's the way to go... instant gratification is the essence of our newest generation of consumers. "The kids today" aren't going to wait for some mail order form Saikosounds to get delivered from Hong Kong just so some artists can get paid, and record-store distribution of Psy-Trance is a joke.
Plenty of people will be willing to pay for music... but far less people are willing to wait.
Also, there are plenty of 'lossless' compression methods out there if mp3 isn't good enough. They're not as small as mp3s but they're definitely smaller than .wavs.

If they keep going like this there will soon be no excuse for people to not pay for thier music 
Thats great.
I think individual track buying is very good and needed for trance.
My concern with the sites mentioned is that I don't like DRM and less than 320k mp3 myself. Preferrably FLAC.
I'm not sure what they provide, but I doubt the shops is set up to please the demands of DJ's and many trance listeners.
Unless it is regular file formats that I can burn my own quality Cd with if I like I cannot see myself buying any downloads unfortunally.
But I'm sure well see shops more targeted to the trance scene opening soon, and this kind of initiatives can open up for that.
