I see no validation at all the original complaint.

Musical taste is a personal choice, and one persons classix is another's trash heap.

How about you put your money where your mouth is Jester and show us a release on cd that is 100% full of quality?

Sure I still enjoy Rewired, but in the scheme of things your label has had what? 1 cd release?

Seriously, who are you to judge any other label or artist or dj for their output?

Move on and get over it.

I love the influx of so much new stuff, never had so much good music to choose, and if there is a few bad tracks, then just move on! I'm paying for a $13.95 cd,not a $50, 000 car!

Keep things in perspective y'all!

Peeps and homes outage!           I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

start with the first names. chaishop music news have a great music pods that can help you discover the best names in the different styles. start with the first names. 1995. you can hear later how many of the artists after that only copied the ideas. start to discover with the beginning. just a small advise

Sorry but I totally disagree. It took some terrible music to get me into electronica before I discovered what was really out there. I wouldn't be here or be making music today if I only listened to Goa from the start.           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

most of them just grow up and understand that you cant suport a family whit "PSY-MUSIC" and turn to "pop"/"dance"/"house" music to be able to make money.

I'm not sure you can qualify such a statement......I think they are more likely to, as musicians, get bored and want to try new things. when you think of how formulated the styles can be, a c4reaive person is going to want to take some time away and try/taste new things.

Dino has a new LP out, Dado is in the studio making new Deedrah/Synthetic material, Transwave are indeed working on their new LP and there's also the Chrome Angels project.
Tristan keeps on rocking it, Frank'e and Dado have a new project, Midi Cops with slamming trance material and Frank'e is still on the case, with his own stuff. The Delta just released a slamming new LP, Bamboo Forest new stuff is great, Man Made Man have new stuff on the way.
All the great ones are still on the case...although some have changed their style somewhat, but on the + side some are also making great techno tunes, like Ido and Joti.
So, nothing to be sad about, on the contrary, the aforementioned is something to be happy about.

mukti is right. taste in music is subjective. it doesn't mean that there isn't good music out there and there isn't crap music out there but determining what is what is up to the listener, no?

I mean, it can be sad that now-a-days it's harder to make a name for yourself when everyone else is trying to do the same exact thing. and the reason why someone who puts out what you think is crap may end up getting heard more than you per say is sad. but what can you really do about it but keep on trying right? well, get the word out as much as possible yes, but other than that you have to rely on word of mouth (or word of typing?) for people to carry your sound farther than you could because there's way more of them than there are of you. maybe some have been subjective to pleasing the masses because they want to make a living and who can blame them? either that or get a day job or something. I don't know.

The only one that continued making music was Pierre from Yumade and Snug as a bug. I think all the other dudes from those stopped and went on to regular jobs.

Anyway Pierre's electro project, Yuksek is really huge in France now, his latest single is even the jingle of "canal+" news cast.

there is always good and then there is always bad...so if we have crappy artists then on the other hand we have good artists.

Yes, but the number of releases just huge...I have huge collection of 2008 songs around 1752...and I never get time to hear all of them for personal reasons and cause there just two many of them...

however, as my several friends said that there are good stuff and there is bad stuff...u jst need to know whom to listen and whom to go with...           Dj Atatri

I find it so sad that, because there are so many releases with so many different artists that nobody know's what to listen to anymore. I just checked out the "DJ mix" section and, in 90% of the DJ sets there are SO MANY no-name artists (and i use the term no-name because i've never heard of them) ..

because of all this, no new artists make it big or get any attention anymore.

why is this important ? because now, people have a harder time to discover psytrance.

Ok, if was in a bad mood I'd say you're just whining that your old favorites aren't as active anymore or are doing different things, whatever...get on with it, they did

But I'm not so I will say this:

For every amazing artist there will be X amount of not-so-amazing ones. With music production becoming more and more accessible and the total number of people making music increasing, that (if you extrapolate) means that the relative number of amazing artists to the not-so-amazing ones will be smaller...now there's two consequences:

1) The absolute number of very good artists is actually bigger than ever!
2) However in the sea of shite you will have to dig harder to find them!

Then again, what I love you may think sucks and vice versa, so I'm all for the diversity, chances are bigger than ever that someone caters just for you (in terms of style)...only thing is the audience isn't spoonfed anymore, you have put in the work and find what you like!

Interestingly though, studies have shown (wish I could remember the source) that 'til the day we die, humans tend to cherish the music that they loved during their most formative years (15-30 rough guess).. and actually not be as open to new influences after that. I can see this on myself even.. I used to be able to buy almost any psy record and love it, but these days I have to sift through a bunch of CD's to even find a single track of my taste sometimes. I guess its just how we are built. So don't throw out your old recs

+1

Moki, copying old ideas is somewhat the evolution of all art. This has been stated by many of the great artists in any field throughout history. Not to be negative, but chances are that when you find something you percieve as truly original, its only because you're unaware of what the sources of inspiration were....

I think we need to start to rethink how the music is distributed. Otherwise the good music will always be out of reach.

RSS syndication and models like amazons methods of recommending would be good starting points.
