music industry is not about how good you are
its about who you know
and who discovers you
sad..yes, but unfortunately without an A&R person you cant do much to get good sounds out...u could sell them to someone else and they would take credit for it but thats the shady trading scene, thats what brings in the moolah...music industry is all about Milli Vanilli style except...dont get caught           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

dont agree... quality always has place on scene, no matter "who you know and who discovers you "           VA - Momentum vol.1 - Compiled by PhaseTech

because of all this, no new artists make it big or get any attention anymore.

but what if i want to make it small...just kidding the realization is that market forces have won over quality...there is lot s of good stuff out there unfornately it doesn t get the stand like that heavily marketed music gets

but that's not my point.. back then, it was easy to find good psytrance and everyone liked the same artists. Therefor, regardless of quality or anything, the artists releasing music would get heard by everyone (in the scene of course).. I used to order 12-25 CD's per month from saikosounds.. Now i open there main page and i'll be lucky to have heard music from 1 of the artists involved in all those new compilations out there.

I mean, everyone know's dado, dino, wizzy, astrix + all the other names from back then.. That was my point.. these guys are gone far away and it is sad to not have there presence on the scene.

We might have lots of new talent out there, but not many are finding / listening to them enough.

maybe i'm just feeling nostalgic today.. hehe..           www.jesterrecords.ca

Man, you decipher the message and the situation very well. But I want to give a following to your statement. psy is reaching day after day a high state of "supermarket music".
Tons of labels that are growing like mushrooms and are disappearing the same day or after a couple of months... tons of music made in 2-3 weeks and are ever the same and the same that it is not important anymore to remember the name of the artist or the band...
Ok, I am a bit sarcastic, that is not the case of all the artists. Some guys are trying to escape from the whole mass, many thanks to their old experience and fame on the scene. But what I notice is that paradox: quality is decreasing while labels are increasing...

well IMHO......now looking for good music is like looking for a needle in a haystack....
theres soooo much music continously being released (and add to it all unrlsd music as well) dat u dont know wat to listen to anymore.....theres just tooo muhc...so much so i dont know which new artists name to listen to......and im not the person who is in a position nor do i have the time to sample soo much music and decide for myself...

Too much quantity and lesser quality,,,,the good ones are like diamonds in d dirt....

Theres soo much music being continously and relentlessly coming out dayin/day out/ weekin/week out that we do not even have classic tracks nowadyas...(this was a thought that occured to me)...its like the 90s and till 2004 there were actually tracks which qualified as all time classics and stood times test......but now theres soo much music and people now constantly feel the need to update their music dat no 1 track nemore remians as a classic (and im not talkin abt ur fav tracks at the moment...pls distinguish btween classics and ur favourites)......mainly becoz people soon forget a possible standout classic tracks...label it as a fav or killargh track for the moment.....and its soon forgoteen as soon as another killargh track comes along the way.....

And im not even talkin abt those insane amnt of speed hi bpm music and stoopid std fullon music nowdays....           ----- Hippies...they wanna save the earth....but all they ever do is smoke pot ----

the point of music being good or crap is very subjective!!!
every individual connects with what is heard differently ... and then some don't connect at all!!
looking for mass appeal for something that you in particular find special is not a very fruitful way ... enjoy what u like, cherish the experience - this is something that does something for you as an individual .... don't be too concerned about the world around you!!
you may find only some that agree with you and many a times people who mock your taste!
to each his own --- as they say!!

but there is also a mass of artists which are trying to escape from the mass.. everything is becoming so huge, there is so many styles and substyles of subgenges of genres.. and psytrance generally imo is worse and worse.. a few years back you could call someone a copycat, but now everything is just the same...

so i enjoy techno really much           VA - Momentum vol.1 - Compiled by PhaseTech

+

I am happy at least 1 user found my point in all this.

It's not about "looking for good music" cause i still dig deep to find stuff i like so that's not the problem.
