Please no ethnic or sectarian psy.

I don't think there's anything more irritating than being bible based at a party.

I think it depends on the context...No matter what, you may offend some people.

However, I feel your intention says everything. If you use it because you appreciate it and feel it should be incorporated into a tribal experience like trance dancing, then how can good vibes be bad...

if you are using to poke fun and laugh at the religion or the chanting, then I think people should have a problem with that.

So, I believe it is all about your intention.

Hey, thats one genre you don't get in trance - ANTI-spiritual WOW!!! or even Pro-capitalist double WOW!!!.

What an opening in the market.
Think of the possibilities. Educating the masses about the coolness of economic independence, the un-coolness of wasting your life on drugs and the super un-cleanliness of the scamster con artists who rent them salvation. And sell them worthless mystical runes.

Yah right. A pleasant fiction.

i think you should understand what the chants are about and then use them respectfully and in a context that is fitting the chants content, then it is ok.

But certainly don't shredder the sample to death or use it in your song as if a caterpiller would roll over it. that wouldn't be respectful. A lot of psytrance is far to unsensitive to ever be able to respectfully get in touch with such chants.

Hindus are relatively open and flexible with their religion, other religions might understand less fun. so handle with care.

They're evocating me something exotic, that's why i wanted put into tunes

BTW speaked with 4-5 indian people in Roma, they said the chants are about the born of khrishna and when i asked them if they would like to hear on psytrance tune, they say it's a little bullshit for their tradition, sample tv,bollywood not hindi chants
one told me , if someone do in india no more will enter in that country especially in ttribal regions

the fact is that my intentions are VERY EASILY MISUNDESTANDING , how they know i respect 'em from hearing a dance tune.

What you tell SCM it's absolutely right but i don't absolutely put any limitations of what i do whit raw material for a tune.

i have not enough skills to plan what i would do with a sample be4 creating.
I do it "on the road" what comes comes.
For that reason also i decided to archive that stuff
there's a lot of other limitations (time, work.health, no $) keeping me away from making tunez,

@bukboy: <?>i can't understand, i don't make it with religious intentions, what's that sectarian stuff ? bullshitting me? wtf it's da problem?

If you can use it creatively, in a way that can leave an impression on the minds of listeners for years to come then nothing like it.

Hinduism is all about tolerance !!

if it sounds good, it is good. A large chunk of my favorite artists use or have used chants in their tracks, and I don't know what any of them mean, aside from a translation of 'the prayer.'

...but I liked it better when I didn't know what it meant. It's more magical and unreal, foreign, psychedelic. The mind is then free to create and expand upon its own connotations and ideas.

The first couple (hundred) times I heard terrence mckenna's or tim leary's voice, sure it was interesting and mystical because I....didn't know. Now I can detect those voices and it almost instantly turns me off or...idk, breaks me out of the trance I was in because I can be 98% certain someones going to spout something about LSD or mushrooms, blah blah.

Same thing with Matrix samples, or any of that incredibly detectable stuff. I'm tripping face somewhere and really diggin the tunes and then wham Morpheus is talking to me and I'm dragged out of my psychedelic state into thinking about some movie whereas if the artist had used something in a foreign language, or mangled it sufficiently it probably would have tripped me out more instead of less.

To each their own though.

pls translate and understand the words before puting them in a track, don't make a total mess from a sample           VA - Spiritual Science out now!

"pls translate and understand the words before puting them in a track, don't make a total mess from a sample"

+1

its better to try to learn what the chant means before using them. I mean its more meaningful that way and if you use it right, you would probably not offend anybody.
