yeah, i was well shocked that everybody did theirs so quickly! i mean, how often is it that we really have a week to perfect a single track? extremely rarely in my case. next time probably better to wait until the day before the deadline to upload.
anyway, we all live and learn, and i think it's going to be a good turnout next week for the feedback and discussion phase!
yep, if you use soundcloud, then please make it downloadable in lossless format, and don't share it publicly. and obviously, please don't cheat!

Yeah, if you wait until everyone else has uploaded it gives you a chance to listen to their versions and tweak yours to sound better. I considered doing that, but then I thought that it would be more helpful of me to just do my thing, post it, and then let people rip it to shreds (in a constructive manner, of course). I'm fully expecting everyone who posts after yours and my masters have gone online to suddenly be mastering beyond their previous capabilities.

I don't understand why you do this on a IDM track, that is so simple in structure and sounds and has absolutely nothing interesting about it!..what a waste of time  it's not even close to trance ..... This is a Psytrance forum and you should do it on a Psytrance track in order to get something interesting

Yeah sure, but a lot of "real life" jobs are with a tight deadline so ... working on the file and uploading it just a day after is more representative of the way an M.E. can catch the track the first time.
Personnaly, I did my version last night, heard it with fresh ears this morning, did some minor ajustements, and uploaded it !

Exactly the same here!
And I agree, a quick turnaround is more likely to represent what we really do. And I agree with Colin too, best thing in these shoot-outs is NOT to "try harder", but just do what you normally do when you master something. Again, more representative!

No guys, I don't master other people's music, but I'm here to improve my production and see the results of a master on a psychedelic Trance track!! Cause this is all about this forum!! Remember??? How can I compare your masters if the sound is so simple, doesn't have the kick&bass or the drive of a Psytrance track!!? Waste of time!! Yeah, let's see who masters better the last salsa track!! Yeah!
