i think it's useless.
imagine that yahoo.com had a big page with "enter yahoo" on the center.
it's a basic rule in webdesign.. opening pages are useless unless u can choose language/bandwidth or anything else (although this page looks good)
  u can find "Anything U Want" using the search... |

we always had splash , before the forum exstance as well;)
also it's good for indexing of diff. search engines which make a screenshot of main page;)
and i really like it, it looks awesome;)

black background is something that belongs to 90's design.
orange is because we love morning sun, don't we?:)

Wen is it ever going to be updated there are things there form years ago plus the radio station is "under construction" or something like that for as long as I can remember...

Look, it looks awesome.
Now the thing is he thinks it's useless...
For a new user, seeing the splash is pretty nice, it looks great.
But for you, just bookmark the next page... or the forum index... or whatever page... don't just go to the splash  |

If isratrance page is not useless I think it might be at list pritier, then ORANGE, like pavel said it looks like the mobile phone company. it was only a small sujestion by the way
so I guess you're offtopic now arent ya? read the hole page!

I like Orange- it's happy and optimistic.
And as for different design- forget it- we hardly have time to even run this site, no chance we'll have time to redesign it.
And Hod, While I agree it's no very functional to repeated users it is some introduction to new ones, and says something about us.
Repeated user (like me ) go straight to the what's new page anyway...
