so, did anything ever come out of this?

and was anyone ever successful of gathering all the banks/samples that people have shared of the years? it seems like every couple of months someone starts a thread looking for patches for some synth. a few people sendspace them. then a week later all links are dead and other people start to ask to re-up. finally, somebody would step in offering to host the files on their server if someone sends them to him. and about right at this point.... all the enthusiasm magically disappears.
