Since there are users in here from all ages graph, since there is minority in here that still learn, since english is our international language and internal language in here, is your english-abilities got better with time? Did you fear to raise your hand up at first stage (open a thread, reply to another one which interest you)?
Do you find it as effective norm to write in english, or you maybe think each nation has to write in its language?
Personalley,i feel my english skills got better since the simple reason, which i read in here, rather quite lot of pages in english every day, express myself and more.
I maintain each and any issue, when expressing in english about it, can definitely teach and help us to improve our english skills.
What do you think?

In England we start learning languages very late compared to other countries and I think that contributed to the fact that I personally was always terrible at them at school despite doing well in other subjects - I don't speak/write anything other than English in fact. It's something I am ashamed of and want to change.
So I would just like to say on behalf of someone who is lucky to be able to write in my native tongue, I wouldn't be part of Isra if we all had to speak Hebrew, Spanish, French etc...and I think you all do amazingly well to write as clearly as you do and make yourselves understood. I can't remember a single time when I have had to ask someone what they man because I haven't understood what was meant in a post, and I hope if I do misunderstand someone in the future you will be kind enough to tell me.
You have my respect XX

Q. What do you call someone who speaks 3 languages?
A. Trilingual.
Q. What do you call someone who speaks 2 languages?
A. Bilingual.
Q. What do you call someone who speaks 1 language?
A. British
It is estimated that by the year 2015, over half the world's population will speak English!
By heck! As proper as what we do, like? Eeee... well who'da thunk it!
On a serious note... considering that English is a second language to many on this forum, im really impressed at the amount of people who speak (write) it so well! I was gonna mention this before but i didn't want to seem patronising.
Am i the only one who believes in solipsism? |

Indeed man, we have all successfully passed
the ''killer'' lesson, now we try to develop and be more sophisticated.
Good semester for all of us!

Forum with proper english speakers is good to learn from. I speak four languages incl. English, tried to develop brittish/scottish/american dialects, some successfully, some less. Thou English is my third spoken language! |

on the contrary, isra has spoilt my english...sometimes i have to knowingly flatten my words in fear that some people won't understand me...subtle sarcasm has died on me...my sense of humor has degenerated to basic...i don't play with words the way I used to...i write these shoddy shorts (i would have written 'short forms' usually...for fear of ...)
so while there are some who gain from it, others lose...agreed, its a balance, and i need a thank you
