papers will not help cause anyone that buys gear out of israel have the papers no matter when he buyd it
but i think that you need to make it look as old as you can and then they will less notice dont worry and dont bring the boxes of the gear cause then they will start to ask questions |

yeah the thing is they dont know shit about synths and pro audio equipment so the older it looks the less chance they'll tax you for it.
other than that its really up to whats going on that day in natbag
ive payed 60% for things and sometimes i just got away without paying anything..... |

I've come in to israel once with 2 turntables, mixer, dual cd player and laptop and the other time with 2 laptops and dual cd player, evrything has always looked new and been in shiny new cases. never had any problems mind you i'm not with an israeli passport. you arent coming to work just to have fun and see friends. |

If you want to avoid paying taxes in this case, you need to find an Israeli friend that you trust, must be a soldier in mandatory service in the Israeli army, and mail all, or most of the gear to him, under his name.
afaik, Soldiers don't have to pay taxes on gear they get from abroad while in mandatory service.
hope that helps.

the main Q is on what basis are you coming to Israel for a year+? most tourist visas are given out here for 3 months, soi as a tourist you should have no problem with equipment.
