by 'intro' i mean the beggining of the track - beat beggining, not fx, pads or vocals. the longer the beat buildup, the more minimalistic it is - easier to mix it. in trance its usualy 8-16 bars of pad/vocal/FX intro then 16 bars of beat (Bass drum and bass line) solo and then the track kicks in (hi hats, snears etc). same with outros. in house music all that usually multiplies wich makes your life much easier. also House music is "cleaner" - less effects, less crazy loops, less crazy off beat breaks- less things to worry about when mixing.

It's not the main reason, the main reason is that usually house trax begin only with bass-drums then bass-line get involved and afterward the hi-hat and the melodies or whatever the artist chose and the same in the end of the track, so that the mix goes like:

Track 1: bass/drums/hi-hat/melody
Track 2: drums

Track 1: bass/drum/hi-hat
Track 2: drums/bass

Track 1: bass/drum
Track 2: drums/bass/hi-hat

Track 1: drums
Track 2: drum/bass/hi-hat/ melody

for something like 1 mins or more, depends on the DJ's creativity.

heard yoav b at dinamo last week, and my advise is not to learn from him about mixing. also the music he played was very boring.

[quote]all of the dark disco group r f***n masters

ori lichtik , avner malca ,poingi & as nir said yoav b.
i'm sure we all can learn somthing from them about mixing....

well guy i must say that i find trance music very easy to mix. it don`t matter at the stuff most tracks have the same beats so it doesn`t really matter.
about the not too clean side every dj got to know when and how to play with EQ.

and again i play most of the time weird muzik with offbeats and stuff like that so its not too hard for me to get along with mixing trance.

any way to those who think Yoav B can mix i have listened to this dude and he played really boring techno and made very bad mixes.

i think that har-el and miko are the best djs in israel and maybe in the world too.
they are like mozart and beethoven : they didn't know how to lay the piano so well, however they are the best in that field, so are har-el and miko. of course thare are better than them, like ubar tmar, tsuyoshi, laurence elliot potter and many others. their imagination is unbeliveable, also, i am listening to their tracks daily, and i don't care how they did them but it is a piece of art, especially " tears in my eyes ". i consider this and power source's " the calling" as the most intelligent tracks ever came out of the israeli trance forum.
also, power source were very good
" granada" "goaway".
astral are good in some way.
recently, 1998 until now, some israeli djs came out to this world and ruined the trance music like barkan, erez aizen, xerox and all his friends, and the worst of all is ofer dikovcsky.
their tracks are so stupid, and you can tell in a minute that no thought had been invested in those tracks. i have been listening to trance music since 1992 daily , and such ugly tracks like those i haven't found whole over the world.

Guys, that TLV thing wasn't a party. It was an A&R happenig for meeting people, creating some media hype, with a bit of a soundtrack to jump to.
Eyal rocks floor and is one of the best full on DJs there are.
