is it from the begging of the trance scene music that the Israeli people & artist was the leaders of the psy music?

Chaos your answer has nothing to do with the question.
the dude wanted to know how and where psy got started.
i think israelis have a big part cause of the whole goa thing...
young israelis who went to goa right after the army and brought back those tapes with them.
tapes with strange music.

Well, I'd say that Israel artists are the leaders of their own genre.

The Israel scene grew parallel to the European scene, starting around 1990 with the parties on Nizanim beaches (see the History section of this site), yet it was the English with Dragonfly (1st label), Return to the Source (first party organizers) and the German VooV Experience (1st festival) which launched the Goa hype in the early 90's. The first official Israel Goa releases came afterwards if I remember well.

If you have additional or contradictory info, I'm interested !

Pretty much right but...

Return to the Source are definately the best known of the party party crews - but were far from the first - in fact if my memory serves - the two behind RTTS were actually booking bands at a club in London which was used for a few goa parties and they saw the obvious potential... and being relatively together - the rest is history!

Precisely John, I was refering to RTTS as the original club.

The founder of RTTS wasChris Deckker (Medicine Drum). He started organizing early Goa parties in a North London club called "Rocket Club" in the Summer 1994.

No one knows exactly which came first - the scene developed first at Goa itself, and later moved to Israel and Germany. SFX (later known as Astral Projection) did goa music before 1990, but Har-El Pruski (best known as half of California Sunshine, but started working much earlier) is considered to be the first *real* goa trance artist, but others say that Sven Vath's material a bit before that time was the real start of that style, and we're talking 1980s here, so this stuff predates Dragonfly, RTTS and VooV, which happened because the scene evolved to be big enough to have some commercial value (all of these were organization with income/expense issues, therefor, they had to have a crowd base BEFORE they started).

In short, Israel and Germany were the first places where this music was 'exported' to, I haven't gotten any solid info about who was first, maybe because it's still up for debate. But it doesn't really matter anyways, since the music was 'born' in Goa anyways, so this isn't anything more than an intellectual pissing contest.

About 'leading' the scene - in the very beginning the Israeli artists were probably the most influential, later the English, then the Germans, then the progressive trend which started with both Germans and Scandinavians, and recently the Israelis are becoming more influential again with this second blooming of full-on. There were never leading scenes though, only leading artists. The psychedelic trance genre is truely one without borders in the sense that everyone can be influenced by everything, from substance to person to place.

Hope I've been informative.

My references to the English scene were about the commercial side of things. As for knowing who wrote the first Goa tracks, as kaz said, it's still up for debate, and is not very important anyway.

PS : Early SFX productions (i.e. before 1992) rather sound Techno to my ear.
