Hi Guy's
I'm a jack of all trades going from martial arts to magic and now music. I never been into music before, not even during high school, I hated it! Always thought it was easy and something that wouldn't stimulate my brain.
Damn I was wrong! I love it. Not the best genre (fullon) to start with if easy learning was the goal, but after listning for most of my life to this music, started when sfx, astral, mfg and the pioneers made music. I got this fixed idea to learn it just before the end of 2008.
After reading this forum a couple of months as a guest I must say you guy's rock.
Now atleast I have been finding my basics in the music ("ktsat") and thanks to all of you guy's at this forum for great threads and posts.
Without you all I wouldn't be able to make basslines (not pro versions of course, yet), kickrolls, some fx, leads that sound ok in my ears |

I wouldn't know most of what I know now if it weren't for this forum...

We're here 24/7 too.
The music prodcution forum is the more "serious" forum, then you got all the rest of them forums to go and have a laugh, especially the "general/trance" forum.

word.
i've been lurking here on and off for several years now. just didn't want to ask the same questions that have been asked a million times before, so i just stuck with the Search, RTFM, and randomly browsing (i think one time i spent a week going back about 20 pages and reading every thread that caught my attention). what i usually did is kept a notepad open and just pasted the posts i found to be very informative. cause there's lots of crap posted here, same basic things asked over and over again, but still plenty of gems to be found in this pile. so it's nice to have that distilled in one place.
i want to express my gratitude particularly to Undertow, Collin, Spindrift, Speakerfreaka, br0d, 14-year-old-e-tard, Kaz, Thomas, SCM, Alex Roudos,... a bunch of others i'm sure i'm forgetting... but these people in particular CONSISTENTLY provide(ed) very valuable info in a way that's easy to understand and went out of their way to do so. and that's an art in itself because there's plenty of other people here who know their shit really well and make great music, but they are just shitty "teachers" who seem to be giving answer just to see themselves give answers, which could very well be correct, but are completely useless to the person asking the question for a number of reasons.
BIG UP to you guys and everyone else on this forum. thanks for spreading the knowledge.

Yeah, I'd have to say that most everything I've learned about the genre I've learned from the nice people here. And hopefully my production is improving. At any rate, I'm also thankful to all the helpful peeps. |
