I would like to vacation in Australia (or some far away place) this year during World Cup Soccer.

What is Darwin or Perth like?

Can someone help me?

That festival looks interesting.

Darwin is hot, sticky and tropical... one of the less commercialised places in australia- laid back lifestyle, and some of the best scenery in australia within close reach...

Perth is a great city- a bit removed from the rest of the country as its on the west coast... Nice people, laid back city with a population of just over a million... again, some really nice country not far away...

Both places are well worth the visit- although id do the darwin option if i were you, and then zip over to cairns after- its got a great scene too a big Winter Solstice celebration happening the week after the darwin gig!           Open Records, Australia
