In 2004 various organizations fight successfully against warez and viri underground organizations. Biggest torrent resources were closed, viri creators get jailed and many open law suits against P2P software developers and it's servers holders. Microsoft claim to protect soon Windows by new form of scheme which will destroy system thru Windows Media Player 10.
What do you think the internet still a secure place? |

Warez will never die!!
I hope
Software firms need warez, i wouldn't had bought some soft if i hadn't used it before 'for free'.
But please don't connect warez with virii.
Virii sucks!

Don't think it'll die... don't think software companies really need warez either! If they want people to try it out for free they can always offer 30 day trials like soundforge!
On the other hand it can be quite good for them if a lot of amateurs use cracked software because then if they ever do become pro they will most likely buy the software that they are used to using.. |

Warez won't die.
There are too many underground resources to
get a cracked software, and too many people
who are dealing with cracking software!
The warez is a statement against the huge
prices of leagal softwares, for example:
Cubase sx3 cost 800$ (that's insane), I can
get good hardware synth for this price!!!
So in my opinion the big companies are guilty
of ware...
Softwares will soon be called Softwarez!
Peace..

Tape recorder, you know. I think hardware version of Cubase will cost more than Nasa equipment.
Warez scene will be much more small very soon, so start to think what you will do next. |

I always find it funny when people say they need all this top end gear, but can't afford it. Like Tsabeat... Stating waves pack. Plenty of cheaper alternatives for people on a budget that some could say is better, such as Voxengo stuff.
People have enough money to go out and buy a top end RME card or a massive PC/mac but they feel it's 'stupid' to pay for a sequencer. Chances are you don't even use the RME to its full potential... You're just caught up in... "this is the best".
I'm not against warez, but peoples logic is stupid towards the whole thing. If you use enough, get a freakin job and pay for it.
I personally buy all the software I use on a daily basis, cause it makes me feel good, not to mention it makes me much more productive with the instrument/fx. I know I worked for it... I don't expect everyone to do the same... but atleast make sense when you post such stupid comments. |

according to this:
http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/11/13/0036243&tid=133&tid=201&tid=109&tid=1
An anonymous reader writes "German PC-Welt magazine reports that Microsoft used an illegal copy of SoundForge 4.5 (Google translation) for editing Wave files shipped with Windows Media Player. You can check that yourself by opening any file in the [Windows location] \Help\Tours\WindowsMediaPlayer\Audio\Wav\ folder in notepad or other editors of your choice and looking at the last line. There you will find a reference to SoundForge 4.5 and also a user called 'Deepz0ne' who happens to be one of the founders of an audio software cracking group called Radium." |
