Or just incapable of experiencing it. But in my life I’ve seen at most 3-4 people like this. And they are usually either super-accomplished professionally or deeply miserable personally or both.

That's what I'm talking about, though if a person is hit with a deeply traumatic experience, they may find themselves in a state of surrender. So, it's not about trance music, but it might be about 'letting go'.
JohnTaramas, its not really an introvert/extrovert thing, as far as I've observed.

It's just an observation of mine that sometimes seems glaringly obvious sometimes. So I just wanted to bring it up.

I think you are right - it's not about intravert/extravert differences. I think it's either about clinical reasons (ADHD, for example) or personality (needing to be in control of your thoughts and feelings all the time).

But again - I've seen at most 3-4 people like this.

An interesting question would be to find how much overlap there is between people resistant to hypnosis and people resistant to trance.

Yes, seems there's a connection there.
I was a young teen in the 70s and loved Sabbath and disco/funk equally, but a lot of rockers back then hated disco (repetitive dance beat). Kinda think there's a relevance there to what I'm talking about.

I also think the same as you (if I understood it all right) -not all can/should trance at psyparties ,because of many possible factors some have ,like some traumas or hidden fears etc.
In other enviroments surrounded by energies they only feel a real trust it might be even healthy to release and open for them though.

In that case, most of us have been there (trance, that is) and most of us don’t mind it. There are some manic individuals, who just have to fidget all the time. Even if they can not do it physically, they will make their brains run 100 mph. Those would be actively opposed to the state of trance. Or just incapable of experiencing it. But in my life I’ve seen at most 3-4 people like this. And they are usually either super-accomplished professionally or deeply miserable personally or both.

I remember I went to a mediatation workshop one time. Halfway though one guy freaked out. Oh course meditation is all about focusing the mind, stopping the perpetual train of thought and just existing. The whole stopping thought thing freaked this guy out and he claimed that if you let everything in your head go, who knows what would be put in it.

He obviously had a hyperactive disorder and paranoia about brainwashing. But I reminds of of the idea of denying yourself trance. He was convinced if his thoughts did not lead to another it would be doom. He left the class quickly after his monologue.

SO certainly, some people do not want to refuse time.
