I sometimes come to the conclusion that there are simply those who trance and those who do not.
Those who (know) trance, and those who do not.

I thought I could trance, but the darkpsy crew said I can't.

I don't just mean within the psytrance scene. I mean people in general.
For instance, my mom 'gets' trance. The 'trance state'. My dad (a jazz aficionado, incidentally) doesn't, and gets restless and annoyed at repetition.

Trance mosbunal a state of mind, ime.

I think to describe it as "something you get, or not" is the wrong analogy/description/metaphor, as by its nature there is nothing to grok/get.          www.youtube.com/trancevisuals

How about this - Those who get tranced, and those who do not.

(I don't know what mosbunal means)

Depends on the musical (or not) experiences and/or education each one has. It's also the character of the person that matters much but again, the character is coined by the aforementioned features..

Are you talking specifically about trance music or about the state of trance in general?

One can get into a state of trance by rocking a baby or by driving through Nebraska too. ...And probably still not like trance music.

Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be.

It's lie most underground & even some overground things.

You either love it or hate it. I am yet to find someone who listens to trance and says "yeah it's kinda ok sometimes".

I have only found people who go it's great or it's shite.

I hate you, you hate me, we are all so hap hap happy!

no, not specifically about the music, i speak about life experiences that make you who you are, to like being in trance or don't care about it.

Everybody & anybody can trance. It's programmed in your genetic make-up.

Music is just a medium for getting in a trance like state. Ever driven somewhere, arrived at your destination and thought to yourself "That was fast, I don't remember much of the road". Just another medium.

I see. So, then your question is beyond dancing to a Goa tune and will include
driving through Nebraska,
listening to a radio while riding a train to work,
rocking a baby,
watching your cloths spin in a dryer,
drawing pictures of cats in your day planner at departmental meetings,
listening to your brother-in-law’s latest groundbreaking business idea,
sitting at a Superbowl party trying to figure out who the hell is playing
etc.

In that case, most of us have been there (trance, that is) and most of us don’t mind it. There are some manic individuals, who just have to fidget all the time. Even if they can not do it physically, they will make their brains run 100 mph. Those would be actively opposed to the state of trance. Or just incapable of experiencing it. But in my life I’ve seen at most 3-4 people like this. And they are usually either super-accomplished professionally or deeply miserable personally or both.

And again – I did not notice any correlation with liking trance music so far.
