HI,
First I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all active members of this forum...

I found this document on the net :
http://rapidshare.com/files/226308553/VST_Mastering_Tutorial_in_8_Steps.pdf

Do you think this vst chain is OK for mastering psytrance ?

I tried it on one of my "finished" track and wanted to know your opinions :

Don't know what the track sounds like without mastering..

Does it sound good? Permission granted.           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

REQ's resonate when HP or LP q's are set at 1.41

eg. if u HP at 50hz with 1.41, u'll have plenty of unwanted lower freqs.

try a lower value..
when i LP or HP with REQ i use 0.90 to 1.00 values on this one           extreme

REQ HP and LP is only accurate with Q=1; any other settings let signal through. They might resonate as well (although they're good enough for Bob Katz to use), but I think this resonance would be at the cutoff frequency, not way below it.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Good to know.
Would you recommend other EQ for mastering ?
What do you think about the Brainworx db Digital vst they used in the tutorial?

Tried Ozone today, here is the result :

Tried to listen to it on my KRK R6 only, no idea how it sounds on other systems.

Thanks for the advices.
Finally, I prefer Ozone too.

And what do you think about the track in itself ?

i would recommend your ears for mastering, not numbers
Some visual aid can also be of help...

URS Eqs are nice....
Also the FFT filter in Adobe audition is nice

But there are so many different tools that you can use and i bet you can do great things with many of them...

Yup. Also make sure your final master doesn't clip, and don't master to 8-bit or at samplerates lower than 44.1KHz, unless your target medium requires it. Make sure all your mastering processes/plugins are actually switched on, and that the mastered version sounds better than the unmastered version.
