You can also successfully run the VB1 or Tau in Logic using the FXpansion VST to AU tool. It used to not work b4. But recently they must have updated it and it now works with the VB1 and tau. with a bit of tweaking you can get that fat low your looking for..
Im currently running 7.1.1 OSX 10.4.3
There is a rumour of applications that are being developed to also build the code for PC platforms..
I think its called Yellow box.
