maybe Mercury T1.
What kind of bass you like?
I dont think ESM is that great for bass sounds (unless u mean percussive bass sounds),not at least for the kind of bass i like.

yes, somewhat - cubase has monologue - go to the electric monobass preset turn off osc 2, makes sure osc1 isnt detuned... and tweak
also - z3ta is quite capable to make those basslines as well.

I like gms, pixel type of bassline, and i managed to do it with logic but i plan to switch lo logic until i get a mac and learn to use logic like i use cubase. Right now o guess bouncing esm is the solution., i tried z3ta without any result.
Thanks for the advices and more are welcomed specially using z3ta. |

You can find 3rd party plugs like Audiorealism bassline for that saw sound. Logic costs as much as a cheap Creamware with Minimax on, which is needles to say that it pisses over ESM. You could sell your copy of Logic cheap and put the money into a Creamware card?

Still i plan to move to logic 7 when i get a mac, i simply love logic plug in and the ones in their new version are lovely, but on the othr side ur right 14 year old retard, creamware could be a great solution and i could stick to pc wich i like.
About audiorealism;well sorry but i donīt agree i canīt get that bass sound, i find audiorealism more useful for 303 leads (rulezzz) i will continue searching for that type of sound on a vst. |

I am also using Logic on PC and I don't see any reason to buy a mac just so that I can run logic 7. I do use hardware though mostly. For the cash you'd spend on a Mac (never mind the hardware) you could get a massive Creamware set-up with loads of DSP, you will get much better quality plug-ins and you will never need to freeze anything.
Anyway, the ESM is Emagic's version of a 303. Besides the sequencer, the controls on the ESM are shouting 303! I think ESM is "ok" sounding. But I certainly would not base my choice of sequencer on that soft synth.

I use Logic 5.5.1 on Athlon 64 3200+ (1 GB RAM + HD 120 GB SATA 7200 RPM + Audiotrak Maya 1010) and I very comfortable with my setup. Of course, using Logic 7 would be great, but I wouldn't buy a Mac only for using this sequencer (lot of money...).
Other choices:
1. Powercore board is able to run the Access Virus.
2. UAD-1 board runs a lot of powerful mixing/mastering tools.

I'm just saying that it's possible.
I'm not sure how and what to do, but that's irrelevant, once the Intel mac will be available, you'll be able to run it on a PC - I'm sure.

You'll have to be able to install OSX on the PC though? How is Logic going to run on anything else?

I my work, I use VMware Workstation running LINUX SUSE over the Windows 2000 (it's pretty slow to compile my C++ source code though). It saves time when you use two OS (in my case, Win and Linux). But, I didn't know it's possible to make the VMware to run OSX... It's a great
solution... (OSX is FreeBSD-based, isn't?).

I'm confusing now, I didn't see any mention to OSX... |
