Is there no Solar Eclipse Festival planned in India?

Hi fellow freaks!
I have been going to eclipse parties for years now: Hungary, Zambia, South Africa and Turkey. This summer I will probably be going to my 5th.
Because -in case you did not know- there will be a full solar eclipse on 22nd of July traversing India, Nepal, Japan and other countries.

As you can see on NASA's website, it will be passing through a large part of India, including holy cities and mejesic mountain ranges. Since all these parties seem to tap into India's spiritual and cultural heritage -and since I have never been there- it seems to me that the perfect place to witness my 5th eclipse would be India.
Yet, while there is a party planned on a little island in Japan (that is expensive and hard to access), so far I have seen no plans coming out of India.
Has anyone heard rumours? Or can anyone explain to me why nobody has planned anything in this vast country?

lol dude u should read the news feeds on solar eclipses in india... its synonomous with death destruction n chaos according to our texts.. u really dont wanna be partyin around tribals or villagers at tht time cos they gon think ur some kind of satan worshippin nut n probably lynch you.. sides the UV radiation during eclipses is ata peak n most flipped crackheads might end up blind cos well... u kno stoned fucks staring at something and goin "AWWW woah way cool" n the like...

i really dont think ther will be any festivals as such... but lets hope that we will be lucky to find some parties at the place.. nyway i'm heading to varanasi by july.... |
