yeah mate! there r parties there,not as common as australia but still,lots of festivals and stuff like that but also small parties,mostly near nelson and also in the north of the north island.
nature there is something else!!! :-)
r u going our summer time or their summer time?
cause its the opposite seasons u know...

I think Antix are from New-Zealand. Pitch Black make some great stuff (not trance though). The club scene (especially in Auckland) is pretty developed, but remember to bring good shoes and respectable rave clothing, because the doormen won't let you in without them (unless you bring some beautiful women with you, then you can get into anywhere :)), but everything is much more "classic" club oriented. There are no good clubs speciualizing in psychedelic trance.
They don't have much in trance festivals, much more DnB and hard house oriented. You can find a good party from time to time in spots around nature, but you really have to get to know the right people (or just get lucky... there's a hippy shopkeeper in Nelson that took me to a sweet party there).
In winter (our summer), there aren't any outdoor parties, since it's too cold. Magic Mushrooms grow wild and in amazing numbers there, so take a walk in the beautiful scenery outdoors instead ;)

the manta crew (the antix/plyon brothers) do some parties. check out their site at www.cyberculture.co.nz. and for sure buy the first trance compilation from NZ, Manta's One Point Perspective. Very good! |
