i live right around the corner from hi-tops (and the ballpark). i have never been inside, it seems a bit cramped from what i can see by walking past everyday on the way to class. its worth a try.

well that sucks for us with shadow lounge, i mean good for them though as im sure that will help their business.
Hi-tops would probly have the same problem though as they can sell alcohol.
The only other place i can think of is the garfield artworks, just a big empty room. Im sure its cheap but i dont know how they would be with keeping it open all night. |

this is totally weird. i was talking to some guy i just met about making tunes and crap. we were talking about what vsti's we used and stuff... then we started to say how pittsburgh sucks for that sorta thing. some other guy heard us and told us about an DnB event going on. he said he worked for the place and i told him i was looking for somewhere to rent out. he gave me a card. im gunna call and get more info.
i think its fate...
EDIT: it sounds kinda weird... they get 30% of what comes in at the door. im not so sure anymore. The IsraTrance MySpace Group:

I organized events in Pittsburgh for five years before moving to Portland last summer. I will be back in town for a few weeks in June and July. I've been talking to some people via e-mail about trying to do something while I am back, and Luke sent me the link to this thread.
The only weekend available for me to do something is July 8 or 9, but I would love to get something going. I called a few places, but they were all unavailable for those dates or unable to accommodate an event. But if anyone has any leads, let me know and I will do whatever I can to make something happen. That 30% of door is not a bad deal...

any word on how much this place thats 30% at the door is?
that could be rough. figure if your break even is 60 people, they are taking 18 people off the top. |

Well I might go to Pittsburgh in march/april 2006. Not 100% 4 sure.... So if any1 knows about any psy party in Pittsburgh or a close city i would really appreciate.

The Gaian Mind Festival is in June. There is a topic on this forum, and the website is www.gaian-mind.com
It's only about 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh.

And there are some events going on in Cleveland, which is only a couple hours away...

And New York City is really not all that far, about 6 hours from Pittsburgh; when I was living in Pittsburgh I used to go to NYC almost every month for events. And I think flights have gotten cheaper since I lived there, so that makes it even closer... (and may be cheaper than gas money) |
