the higher the frequency u use u get the sensation it s going up , the lower the frequency u get the sensation its down....
plus mixing the pan ( left , right )
double channels with micro adjusted delay compesation to help in the stereo image
plus the reverb sensation of bringin the sound to front and back u can draw any kind of geometry not only sacred ones.
dont need any kind of emultor or special vst. all u need s a big dose of creativity ;vision; and patience.

If you using Ableton,in operator you have this option of setting it on constant frequency.You can build your own scale by sampling sounds of different frequencies ,in lets say Fibonacchi advancement.
  From all the things I lost,that sandwitch cost me most :)

I saw an "in the studio" computer music vid where Hybrid use a program called Metasynth where they scan a photo which converts to audio. Should be able to find it on youtube. Don't know if this will be of any use to you |
