Is there a scene for dark psychedelic booty house in North America?

FUNk for Prez! he has the most ill grooves I have heard yet. wow. for dark psychedelic booty house I would look at phonokol and compact records. they have released some of that over the yrs.

look up, Sanchez and the Shockers from Nashville TN. they;ve been putting out some pretty dark psychedelic electro sounds lately.

I was thinking... Booty house tends to have a younger crowd and they are all shaking their asses and checking eachother out and everyone is decked out with some kind of flashy style... I have seen this before in the Dubstep scene around San Fransico. At Symbiosis I felt something similar to the feel. The music definetly didn't fit into "dark psychedelic booty house" though.
I listened to some PsyBooty music and it wasn't as ridiculous as the music I was dreaming of. Kompact Records comes a little closer...
Dusty Kid I think is bridging the gap between "big booty flapping" and psychdelia. This weekend @ the beach I think I had a vision of 2 bootys shaking in slow motion during a Dusty Kid track. It's not trance.... NO WAY... but maybe... it's dark psychedelic booty house... I will continue my quest. |

so strange, I thought this thread was started as a parody of subgenre gender blending....Though I see responses supporting that this elusive format is out there somewhere, I really hope its not true.

some of dusty kid's stuff is pretty trancey (for techno) --
"Kore"/"Psika" anatome ep vol.1 is pretty hoppin, sitting near the top of my techno-playlist at the moment!
when you said booty house I thought u meant booty house... not dark-epic-progressimal trancetechno --- this stuff is way too slow to be ghetto house. wait, am I getting ghetto house and booty house confused? perhaps so.

as far as dark-booty-psytrance, that's a completely different bag of marbles. there could definitely be some compatibility in the 150+ BPM region, but i've yet to hear it done.

i have lots of dusty kid tracks , but im pretty sure dusty kid falls more along the lines of electro - tech - minimal house / minimal techno. For sure anatome ep vol. 1 by dusty kid is killla, very trippy stuff. But this comes back to the main question, does this dark psychedelic booty house genre exist? or is this just a genre you have pictured in your head? or is it the name you personally have given to some house tracks you heard? |

yeah
booty house is funky house with really raunchy samples. really couldn't see it being dark and psychedelic, it's pretty much the opposite.
i suspect what you are looking for is "sexy", not "sexed-up". maybe look into minimal techno, check the electronica forum here, there's lots of suggestions for mnml on the trancier side of things.

That's it!!! It couldn't be psychedelic with all the raunchy samples and bouncy ball basslines. Drop the house association and dark association, let's get to the juicy stuff...
Ok... Now I know what I need to find. Sexy psychedelic music is good enough for me. We find it in psytrance, minimal tech, prog... you name it. I definetely don't like girls moaning or raunchy language in any of my music. What makes the booty and the sexy chakras fly? Also, what are the componets that gives a "sexy" song it's appeal? On the dancefloor, you can feel when a song makes the crowd more aware of the opposite sex and moves there body differently to the beat. There are elements to music sex appeal that I feel need to be discussed and brought into the open before this thread ceases to exist... |

I am not talking about sex and trance... I am talking about a diving into what gives us the sexy feeling that we get from those booty shaking, opposite sex attracting psychedelic grooves. I am going to dive into my library and pull out some GOOOOD examples. IF you guys have anything that might work, LINK IT UP!!! |
