Yeh, If it goes to Ibiza, and takes over the trance scene there, the two will probably merge more, creating a more pop-psychedelic genre coming out of that area.
But it still needs to reach other areas BIGTIME (cough cough USA)...

There's already folks making psy in Ibiza, and it resembles nothing to pop. Check Nocturna coming out Inpsyde media soon... Geographic location in psy trance on this day and age means sh*t, it's a globalized genre baby, yeah! elementoftime.net

the 1st reason I´ve became addicted to it was because of that:1st like it 2nd the hope that this kind of sound would pop, cause its not harmfull to the mind or to our patience, trance allways tried to reach out to unity, to a second movement that hopefully wouldn't die like the first one: sad, alone, fragmented and with a fu*ked up head full of acid.
and if some say that the scene is full with more and more nobrainer kids everyday, I think there are more ellitist "trancers" every second, that are becoming much too ""underground" yo hip-hop" kind of vibe, this place is ours and we like it this way kind of vibe, for me in this last four years it changed from that magical point where I never heard of trance and when someday while smoking a few togheter with friends heard, driving around town, those times all we needed was a fucked up radio with only the same compilation of gms talamasca infected (i know its a cliche start but nonetheless a start) few beers a joint or two down at the beach, making the party. and then to that place where everybody was so bored and grounded to the same everyday, that almost no one I knew, was in to searching for good trance partys...
then I found the magical spirit again taking of alone out of the country to a place where everybody was in the same vibe talking sitting toghether trading stories and experiences and smokies...
then I went to a few local party's and it depressed me to see that was nothing less than a "disco in the woods", where every conversation is about the music, drugs, or the cops, there was no talking about school, job, arts, politics or even science, not even the quantum's that they use to sell in psy ads, and then I started to see the reason, elitists goups of "freaks" looking down on everyone that didnt used to attend this partys the sameone's that helped developing the scene (not the first generation, those kind spirits are still walking around a little lost, but still open-minded)
those "freaks are the one that promoted the idea of a "fucking good track" like mtv does, now I hear them yell "progressive is the way" beacause they are to tired to go to the woods
when most progressive dont present that much new sounds, as someone I knew last year said "trance and joints with nothing else on the side make good hard-headed people"
and that frase still ecoes in my mind, with the voice and tone and everything my eyes could see in that moment, like a memory scar...
and that really is a fact, but last time I checked trance was saying everything goes, its all trance, its all music, its all art, its all good. nowadays hard-headed "freaks" stoped being freaks to staying sheeps, it all about the masses opinions, if it's too melodic and cheesy they dont hear it, if its too psychotic, they dont hear it, if its not hip so forget it, and this kind of audience sends a message and a vibe along-side with it
a vibe that screams "we are fans of fast basslines, fullpower guitars, and fractal-formula, music, so give us what we want or we are driving out with the money to McMtv land where the costumers service is better"
and the musicians to survive have to obey the fans, the addicts and the casual newbies that are educated by whoever was there, and so it begins a vicious cycle that even the queen of pop madona, is trying to get out releasing everytime different and new things even if its not good music she tries to open new ways, to reach everyone
what we are seeing is not psy-pop, is psy-markting, selling goa, hinduism, peace where are no peace lovers, and its got to got the ohm on it, if it doesn't noone buys it
and that's why music is getting limited because people that hear it are getting limited.... the zapping generation once more got the spirit lacking the direction.
continue to sell the stories of our fathers an uncles generation about india, instead of searching for new places.
sell it to the bones and it will die with no calcium and no structure. |

think psy party's are dead, from time to time they just dig out of the grave...
it would be true psychedelia if for just once someone could see an hard-trance artist playing along with the so called psy-trance artists? if it is all full on with the same samples where is the psy in that? where is the turning point in the straight line, that move your thoughts to not higher but diferent ground? |
