does it matter ?

do you like it ?

if you mean pleasant melodies and well produced beats , well i guess he is.

if commercial is music that sells as good as possible, i think there would be better ways

Well, i think most of the peoples don't understand very well the idea of "comercial" music.

Just because a music is very well produced and it has lot of success to the public, and of course it sales a lot , this doesn't mean it's "comercial"... this mean it's good music !
But, when a music is designed only to sell, and it has no ideas, no feelings, no message inside, and it's just a simple song, easy to dig by the brainless young kids, than this is a "comercial" track.

So if you ask about the early productions of Protoculture, i would say that was good music..if you ask about the last album, well, i would say it's "comercial".

One more thing.... when i was talking about "very well produced music", i wasn't talking just about sound quality, but about productions in general (compozition, musical arrangement, sound quality, message...)
          NEW ALBUM OUT SOON !!!

if its being sold in stores online or offline and they are getting paid for what they do--it is commercial..if they are not getting paid its not...obviously they are making some money with their music performance-so it is commercial. their intention is to sell.           When death comes to your doorstep, make sure you are alive

I guess that's what happens when you're a good producer with a sound that a large audience enjoys. More power to him.           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound

I agree. Even when you said about his earlier work that also is right. I loved his earlier works.

Since when has it been ok to be so judgmental of people? How do any of you know he only made that to sell copies? Plenty of artists sell a lot of music and do it because they love making that style of music. Just because it doesn't evoke the same feelings his old work did, doesn't mean it doesn't evoke feelings for others.

What's so hard to dig about most psytrance music? Are pitch bending sounds really harder to "understand" or are you all just being defensive of your musical choice?           http://soundcloud.com/ascensionsound
