One of the few things Reason really lacks is hi-pass, lo-pass and shelving EQ, and these are very useful when dealing with the extremes of frequency, eg bass.
It is possible to kludge a hi-pass or low shelf EQ by using a standard Reason EQ, setting the frequency and gain as low as it will go, and varying the Q control to raise or lower the frequency of your 'hi-pass' filter; I find that to get the effect I'm after sometimes needs more than one EQ like this in series.
Be warned that this adds a certain amount of DC to the sound that is impossible (?) to remove using Reason - after you bounce down your mix you should run you mix through a hi-pass filter in Sound Forge or whatever to get rid of the DC.

like colin said about the high pass filter. i have found that the parametric eq in reason is horribly inadequate at times when really trying to isolate a freq or cut that part of the sound out.

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. |
