is it possible to use my computer as usb audiointerface for my laptp?

Hey there °
i have a desktop pc for production and there i have a pci soundcard where the monitors are conected to.
Now for school i need to work a lot on my laptop - protools and logic - so i was wondering if i can just connect my laptop somehow (usb) with my computer so i would be able to use my monitors on the laptop ...
or in other words - is it possible that my pc works as an usb audio interface for my laptop ?

hey, i have an audio interface usb, it's an x-station from novation, is a medium-good usb audio interface medium-good synth and crap midi interface but i think for your purposes it's ok, have 2 mono in, 2 mono-out, 1 stereo out for headphones, midi in-ou-thru, simple to connect to other machines, good audio drivers on windows, latency around 512 samples 11ms, you can find it used on the web, around 200/250 euros maybe 150, i use only with my laptop where i produce tracks with ableton.

thinking about it, you have to "out" your laptop audio(with standard audio interface) to the "in" of your pci card, with a good stereo to 2 mono audio cable you can, but for me is better to buy a cheap usb audio card..

i could go out with my hercules dj console shity interface and try to go from there (rc jack ) to my soundcard or my monitors xlr ... but then in the end its easier and best to get a real audio interface ...
i just thought maybe there is some kind of software you install on your computer that will emulate a usb interface so it will be recognized as one when i conect it with the laptop ..

maybe via ethernet you could connect it but i m not sure,there is maybe some software for this i dont know |
