Sure it's possible, but there is many different ways to do it.
What precisely are you trying to?           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

If I am not wrong Cubase has had some kind of built -in addon to be able to use other machines as fx/synth processors, so you can spread the CPU load over the nodes on the network.
I don't remember it's name.

maybe it is what you need.

I don't mean to be rude, but ... where have you found the word "Logic" in "Cubase" ?

If the S/PDIF connections on your soundcard are working you can use System Link to connect your main PC (running SX) with the laptop (running SX or VSTack).

If you're using Live then I think Wormhole is the best way forward.          Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

ok u mean system link??? well with this u still need a soundcard with digital in outs on both computers... which glitch says he doesnt have, so you woulnt be sendind audio through Lan.
Wormhole or Fx Teleport do this..

OK, I see it's been my misunderstanding.

Funnily, with ardour under linux, you can do all this.
the sound engine system linux uses is called "jackd", and it has an expansion named "netjack", which allows you to have clients connected to a remote host.

"Jack client" is a software that has both MIDI and audio inputs/outputs, it can be a synth or fx processor.

Of course you need a fast network, but basically you can connect a cluster of several computers when each runs several plugins, thus scaling your audio processing power.

I cannot recommend it, because I haven't tried this network related feature myself, but ardour does work great.

and you achieve much smaller latencies even with not so "highend" equipment.

ardour:

jack:
http://http://jackaudio.org/
netjack:
http://netjack.sourceforge.net/
I think you simply need to build jack with special flag to have that feature.

Cheerz.
